Silly me. A few months ago, I had the urge to hand out warnings about the latest "hope" hype in a local SDA church. I went to place the warnings on the windshields of cars in the parking lot. Things have changed! There was a guy watching me, took my handout inside, came running back out, told me that "we don't need these", and started pulling them off the cars. Later, I found this on the Hope Evangelism website for SDA's: "Patrol parking lot and building for security reasons (if you don’t have a parking/security team). Be prepared to remove anti-seminar literature from car windshields." The paranoia astounds me. After recent conversations with some Adventists, I am amazed at the fear and self-protective response when they find out you don't believe what they do. I guess it's worse than I thought. When you see it up close and personal, it's ugly and scary. Steve the Naive |

They are afraid. People might find out who they are and what they are about. The church of Jesus Christ shouldn't have anything to hide. Maybe this discussion needs to go to the members only area - just a thought. |

They don't have security at the churches in my area. I've been having all kinds of fun putting literature regarding "the truth" of the SDA church on windshields myself. I just pray it reaches people |
