My son, in the Air Force will be going to Afghanistan toward the end of August. He will be leaving toward the end of August. He will not be doing his usual job as a navigator, but will be with the Army on the ground and will be there 6 months. Tonight at the prison, where I go with Celebrate Recovery every Wednesday night, I was wearing a t-shirt with an Air Force logo on it. The prison chaplain asked me if I had been in the Air Force. I told her no, my son is currently in the Air Force. Then I said she could do a favor for me and pray for him. That is when she told me there is a bulletin board in the chapel where all prayer requests are put and she would be glad to put a prayer request for him up there. All they need is his first name, initial of last name, service, where he is going and I also put how long he would be gone. The chaplain told me some of the prisoners are real prayer warriors and they pray for all the names on the board faithfully. So now I have my prisoners praying for my son. I love those women and love seeing the changes in them. God is doing an awesome job with them. Diana L |

That's wonderful. I really appreciate your son's service to our country. Is he going to be coordinating close air support? |

I think he mentioned he will be doing something like that, Bskillet, along with other things. Diana L (Message edited by Flyinglady on July 08, 2010) |

Diana Thank God for friends (in or out of prison) who will pray on behalf of your son. I'm praying, too. I'm a Vietnam era kid, high draft number, but that war changed my life--just watching the evening news. It broke my heart. So I will pray like an old guy would pray for his own son. Keep us, Lord.
