As I finished my post this morning, and headed for the shower, this is what it seemed the Lord spoke to me, “Let your peace return to you.” Now, although I felt that it was the Lord giving me a word of knowledge, as soon as I got out of the shower, I looked it up. I believe that that is the proper approach, I don’t believe God will say anything to you that falls outside the bounds of his word. We are to try the spirits, even our own spirit. I believe that this is the message God wanted me to bring to you this morning. As you go to your Adventist Families, your desire is for them to have the same peace in Christ Jesus as you do. As I looked into the word this morning I did my best to get what was the heart of God as laid out in Matthew 10:13. If your Adventist family and friends reject your message, let your peace return to you. What I think the Lord would like to convey to his people is this concept, do not allow those that reject you to take your peace from you, let your peace return to you. The world never gave you that peace, and the world cannot take it away, let your peace return to you. Rejection cannot take your peace, let your peace return to you. Let no man take your crown, you have been crowned with peace, so let your peace return to you. As you hold out the offering of peace, if they reject it, let your peace return to you. River |

I completely agree River :-) A couple days ago we went to visit my MIL + FIL and MIL is VERY SDA... FIL quit going to church at all many years ago, though in some ways, (his gently nature, etc) he seems more "Christian" than a lot of "Christians" (MIL included). We discussed family things, kids, grandkids, pets, flowers, etc... but not religion. She did mention something about a lady in the church that "studied her way into the church reading the desire of ages"... I held my tongue as she did not go into detail or say any more about it. I sooo wanted to say something like she may have studied her way into SDA beliefs by reading the Desire of ages.. but she didnt study her way into a relationship with Christ reading it.... But I didnt... the time was not appropriate for such a discussion because of other things going on. Anyway, I have tried on occasion to give MIL information,, and when she knew I was at first finding things that did not sound good for the church or Ellen White, she would listen and really seemed interested.. but then when she realized I was serious and finding a LOT of information and that I no longer believed the way she believes,,, she put up that wall and I cant penetrate it. So while I was depressed about it for some time.... I have come to realize and have peace knowing that it is my responsibility to continue to love her and to pray for her eyes to be opened to truth.. but it is the Holy Spirit, not me, that will get the job done if indeed she at some point is willing to let the veil be removed. When I found out that sister, that is toxic to me, was going to be at our nephew's wedding here in Vegas, I prayed about it and asked God to keep His peace with me. At the wedding I was able to go up to her and say Hi and when I left the reception I was able to tell her it was good to see her again. She reacted nastily to this. But even that and when she refused to look at my grandson's picture on my phone, I had God's peace. It was fantastic. I loved her anyway and still love her. I have settled all things with her between God and me and have even apologized to her for things I have done. Even when I received a letter from her last week, God has still given me His peace and I did not get hurt over it. I called my CR sponsor and read it to her. I am not answering it and not giving her rent free space in my head. I have given her to God to take care of her. Thank you awesome God. Diana L |

Thanks, River. That was one of those verses that has a certain religious sound to it, which means we could quote it or someone with a good preacher's voice could say it, but if you ask us later exactly what it means we couldn't tell you. What God gave you to share here explains it and translates it into non-religious, basic language. It means don't lose your peace when you're rejected. You give your peace to someone, you share His peace with them, and to do that you make yourself vulnerable. Anytime you open yourself it means you can get hurt. It happened to Him, and it will happen to us. When it happens, stay inside His peace and don't let it be taken away by others' rejection. Daddy still loves us and accepts us. Just like Jesus said to the disciples, "You all will leave Me, but I am not alone for My Father is with Me." Thank you for sharing what He gave you. Hmm, I realize I didn't say it clearly above: I didn't understand the verse until you shared what it meant here. It was couched in and hidden in lofty-sounding religious jargon. Not that Christ spoke it that way, but that, well, that is what tradition has done with it and many other words He spoke. Today He gave you that for me, among others. Thanks again for being obedient.
