This is mainly a question for Adventists, but it's a good one! There's trememdous persecution against Christians in Muslim countries now, far worse than ever in history! Here's one article about it:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/07/28/state-department-christian-presence-in-middle-east-becoming-shadow-its-former/?intcmp=latestnews

And another:

http://www.timesofisrael.com/jihadist-offensive-sparks-mass-christian-exodus/#!

And another:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/aug/5/carson-the-spreading-scourge-of-anti-christian-per/

In view of the overwhelming, violent persecution against Christians all over the middle east, so much so that whole Christian communities are being wiped out, shouldn't she "have been shown" that Christianity would be nearly eradicated in the middle east? Shouldn't she have told Adventists that when radical Islam is wanting to establish a "world-wide caliphate" - to force their religious-political agenda on the whole world; that Adventists don't need to be distracted by that. She should have said "don't worry about that. It'll come to nothing. Wait for the Sunday law!"

Come to think of it, in her book "Early Writings," she told Adventists not to bother evangelizing Jerusalem because it wouldn't come to anything - "would never be built up."

(There's been two giant anti-salvation scourges that have afflicted Christianity - the Roman Catholic church for many years and now Islam that's arisen out of the desert! Of course there's been lots of smaller anti-salvation scourges such as Mormonism, J-Witness and Seventh-day Adventism!)

Asurprise,

It seems that SDA's have a blindness to anything outside of their paradigm. One lady said to me, when I spoke of Israel and Islam, "well, it's all part of the deception". I think she meant that somehow it will all lead to Sunday Laws. They also seem blasé to persecution of Christians, if they aren't SDA's.

For them, I guess, if EGW didn't talk about it, then it isn't important...even though the whole world is revolving around this Middle East crisis on a daily basis!

Somehow, things will happen just the way EGW said it would, and the Adventists will be the center of the universe!

I am sitting here on pins and needles, wondering when Islam is going to come to their senses and commence Sunday worship.

I doubt if EGW or SDA's as a generalization give a rip about if Christians are being persucated. I think this because #1: they think all Christians are spawned by satan himself and only themselves are the TRUE Christians so even though the others proclaim Christ they really aren't Christians at all because"Sunday keepers" are beholden to the anit Christ. You all know their line. I actually have had SDA's and smei-SDA's tell me the Islam religion will have more favor with God than the Sunday keepers because the Moslems are true to the abstanance of pork. Does no good to point out to these SDA's that Moslems eat shell fish and other "unclean" meats. They are 100% stuck on the pork issue. Remember this: to a SDA person a Christian is not a Christian unless he or she is SDA. It will be the SDA's who will be perscuated in the last days and it all boils down to the Sabbath vs. Sunday loyality. Clear as mud?

Because Judaism has guarded the Sabbath, Adventism often seems to hold them as closer brothers than other Christians. After all, Baptists, Lutherans and Methodists are part of Babylon, but Judaism is not.

It makes me sad.

They also smoke tobacco like the nicotine fiends that they are, mass murder civilians whenever they can, never go to the Mosque on the Sabbath, and believe that all competing prophets are apostates and should be killed.

.....but still, they stay away from Bacon.

There's that.

It's really skewed and convoluted. You have to be totally drenched in Adventism to make sense of it. That's because they use the same language and terms as Christians but these terms and words have a different meaning. New converts don'tunderstand that yet. Then by the time they sstart making sense of it they are brainwashed because of Sabbath and pork and Revolation and a few other things. The Mormon church and the JW do the same thing with the language. Colleen did an article about this language issue several years ago in Proclamation! .

Also the sda's will hold hands with the Muslims telling them that it is o-k to worship or whatever on Fridays.

The adventists are already in good with the muslims. I remember reading that the muslims protected sda schools in Egypt when the muslim brotherhood was warring against the government. Also an Arab sheik was told in a "vision from God to seek out the SDAs". I wonder if his messenger was the same that was sent to EGW?
Oh and Dwight Nelson has said that the Allah of the Muslims is the same God of the Bible. Must be the SDA Bible!

I forget, but was there something in the OT of the Bible where 2 daughters of Abraham or was it Noah who raped thier own father and from that rape we have modern day jewish state and modern day islamic state and both are under the curse of God since stated there will be no Peace between them and anyone who helps them will have the curse of God upon them...

God will provide, these 2 daughters did not trust God to provide them with children instead they went against the Word of God and committed a crime of Rape.

That been bothering me, seeing how we as a nation seemed to be under a curse, so am wondering if the Whole world including this nation is under the Curse of God for trying to bring peace to the middle east?

@Flyinglady

Your right about that, so that means we all have to be careful because the muslims will love to kill, rape, torture any former adventist... since we are no longer under the so called protection of the adventist church...

Thalarian,

The two groups, the Jews and the Arabs, come from Abraham. Isaac's descendants became Israel, and Ishmael's descendants became the Arabs.

And the sons of Lot's daughters (fathered by their dad Lot) were named Moab and Ben-Ammi. They became the forebears of the Moabites and the Ammonites. Remember the story of Ruth and Naomi? Naomi was an Israelite who went to Moab during a famine in Judah, and while there, her husband and her sons all died. Her sons had married Moabite women. When Naomi heard that the famine in Judah was over, she went back. Orpah remained in Moab, but Ruth insisted, "Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people will be my people, and your God, my God."

Ruth eventually married the Israelite kinsman-redeemer Boaz, and their son was named Obed and became "the father of Jesse, the father of David" (Ruth 4:17). Thus a Moabitess entered the lineage of the Lord Jesus.

Mount Nebo, the place where Moses died, rises out of the Plains of Moab.

The Ammonites refused to provide water or any assistance to the Israelites during the Exodus, so God punished them for their refusal. (Deut. 23:3-4). Nevertheless, when Israel entered Canaan, God did not allow them to take the land of the Ammonites because He had given that land as an inheritance to the sons of Lot (Deut. 2:19). Their territory was on the east of the Jordan River where the country of Jordan is today. Interestingly, the capital city of Jordan is named Amman and reflects on the ancient heritage of that area.

Nowisee, thanks for the article.

"The following day the sheikh and I met to consider what topic should form the basis for the discussions with the larger group. Almost immediately we settled on the Second Coming. We decided to ask each side to prepare short papers on the general topic of Jesus’ return, on the signs of the Second Coming, and on the antichrist. Then came the moment I had been waiting for. “Sir,” I asked, “is it true that you received a vision about Seventh-day Adventists?”

“Not one, but three,” he replied. “All three had the same message: Seventh-day Adventists are the true People of the Book [a term from the Koran, designating followers of Allah who are not Muslims]. Adventists already are God’s people, so do not try to convert them. Instead, work with them.” ... "I am still haunted by the sheikh’s passion concerning the Second Coming and his sense of its imminence. I wonder: Is God sending a wake-up call to His Adventist people?"

So, the SDA leadership are confirming Adventist "truth" and hoping that they're hearing from God by giving their members visions from Muslim sheikhs.

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." John 16:13

It seems that Adventists get confirmation of their beliefs from occultic sources and non-Christian sources. And worse, they don't see a problem with it. In fact, they proclaim it proudly.

The title of this thread is "Why didn't EGW predict Islam?". The short answer is: Islam was not very newsworthy during her time. The extreme Moslems if there were any at all were containd to their region. I don't think airplanes were even invented yet and if there were any in the Westeran Nations they were of no consequence to their neighbors, communities or nation. Now we have wolfs in sheeps clothing. She did not predict Islam because she predicted nothing, except maybe that death and taxes are a sure thing and I think that prediction actually goes to Ben Franklin. I could be wrong but beyond those two predictions I would not trust any prediction that wasn't from God the Almighty. Ellen predicted nothing. If it was something she might have gotten correct it was not a prediction from her. It was science she read and passed along or something she copied from someone else. Even her advice about not smoking was promoted first by other scientists. Colleen gives a lot of other websites at the top of this one to research this out.I hope each of you are having a lovely day. Remember, " this is the day the Lord has made. Rejoyce and be glad in it."

Islander; I agree. "This is the day the Lord has made. Rejoyce and be glad in it."
The Bible says "Today," so even though it's Wednesday right now, "again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on."
Hebrews 4:7-8
Now instead of works to keep our salvation, we Rest in Jesus "Today!"

That's exactly my point. If Ellen White had been a true prophet, she would have foretold the rise of Islam!
