http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/canada/archives/2014/12/20141215-091618.html Sad story, and the SDAs are doing their best to distance themselves from the family in question. |

The opposite of this is on the fox news website today. Go to the section about health. There's a long article about a heart surgeon from Loma Linda who is SDA. He is 100 now and a vegan and super healthy and still does all his own yard work. Very interesting story. It is sad about the little Canadian kid. Some people are extreme |

I'm so sorry to have missed so much time here...we finally got the next issue of Proclamation to the printer, and we also have house guests from Pennsylvania for six days. Very much fun...but my time has been pretty stretched. Cheryl Granger has been doing research for an article on the Adventist "health message" and the relationship of vegetarianism to other religions that also endorse vegetarianism. She has been finding some amazing sources and quotes that show a remarkable similarity to religions that teach spiritual acuity by means of diet. It is amazing how "unbiblical" the Adventist health message is. While vegetarianism has merit in some situations, it certainly is not a source of spiritual enlightenment, growth, or clarity. It's quite amazing how clear Scripture is about what foods God gave humanity and how cleverly people have amended the biblical recommendations. Colleen |

It’s not entirely accurate to insist that a vegan diet isn’t part of SDA teachings, as the pastor in this story states. Veganism is not one of the 28 SDA Fundamental Beliefs, but believing in EGW ‘s writings as “the Spirit of Prophecy” is and a vegan diet is clearly taught by the “Spirit of Prophecy”. |

Yes, Chris...thank you. That is true. They always find a way to skew reality just slightly enough that people "buy" the skew. Follow the skew, and you end up far, far away from where you thought you were going. Colleen |

I don't believe one single word in the 28 SDA Fundamentals honestly portrays Adventistm's beliefs. The most glaring: The 28 FB's declares a belief in the Trinity, most likely to appease the Evangelical cult hunters. Ellen's teaching that Jesus is Michael the Archangel completely refutes that official "belief." |
