Is it just me, or does Adventism have multiple gospels, all being false gospels? 1. Sabbath 2. Jesus' second coming 3. Sanctification There may be others, too. |

Very good point. Adventists will use the word "gospel" with all three of these subjects. The Millerite gospel, as Tim Martin of the Centers for Apologetics Research has pointed out, is the same for all Millerite-derived organizations including the Jehovah's Witnesses: "Jesus is coming! Pack your bags!" I have not met nor heard of an Adventist who has a clear answer when asked what the gospel is. Some will say the Three Angels' Messages; others will say some morphed version of Sabbath-keeping as a sign of loyalty to Jesus; others will include the Health Message: the Right Arm of the gospel. I've never heard an Adventist able to articulate that Jesus died for our sin according to Scripture, was buried, and rose from the grave on the third day according to Scripture. To them the gospel is...a jumble of unclarity that MUST include Sabbath-keeping, soul-sleep, and no bacon! Colleen |

I know that as an Adventist, I didn't really know what the gospel was. I knew it had something to do with Jesus, but I didn't know what. When asked, I couldn't really say because I didn't know exactly what it was. There isn't really a clear "The gospel is..." and when they do say that, it's usually something that isn't the gospel. I was also taught that the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ is an example of the gospel and not the gospel itself. It's not good to teach a false gospel. I know the Bible speaks against false gospels. |

There is not only false gospels, but also false Jesus'. I believe it is in one of the books of Corinthians that warns against false Jesus'. This isn't just "crazy" people who think they are Christ ... But those who believe Jesus was not fully God - always was God and forever will be God. Carolyn |

Wow, Carolyn I am impressed! I thought I was the only one that woke up in the middle of the night to write! Welcome to the night owl club! In my opinion, Seventh Day Adventism to this day STILL does not teach anything remotely resembling an orthodox doctrine of the Trinity and the Divinity of Christ. It still consists of Resurrection Denial and some unfinished business left over from the Cross. Not as long as Jesus is Michael the Archangel, or Satan's brother and any other such nonsense. There is just no way that the current 28 Fundamental Beliefs are compatible with Ellen and "Historical Adventism." No way. Colleen is right, Adventism is just slightly more polished and deceptively mainstream-appearing than the kookier variants of Millerism, like JW and Armstrongism. |

Res, I smile as I say this. It appears you don't know which time zone Carolyn is in. What it does reveal to me is that you must be much closer to my time zone than hers. On a more serious note, I have been praying that your recovery from surgery is going better than you last mentioned. Fearless Phil |

I gladly affirm with all my heart that Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose from the grave on the third day according to the Scriptures. No Sabbath-day keeping (especially for salvation!), no soul-sleep, and I will most definitely keep the bacon! Ha, ha! (yummy) |

I recently watched 3ABN and the fellow said the SDA denomination is the only demonination to include the truth of the health message in the gospel. He said this with pride and as if that would be the authority that validates the SDA as "the truth". |

When I used to get 3 ABN on my tv, I have seen the same thing Islander. I have also seen it on the Hope channel, which is also an SDA channel. (Message edited by Flyinglady on November 06, 2014) |

There was a lot of pride in the health message. To some, that was the gospel. We shouldn't be prideful. Ephesians 2:8–9 8 For by grace you have been saved athrough faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Also, Galatians 6:14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |

"There was a lot of pride in the health message." As there should be. Whoever invented Fri-Chik should be awarded the Nobel Prize. |

Dear Resjuducata, I live in an area with A LOT of Hare Krishnas and they are very dedicated to being vegetarian. They don't use dead anumals or eggs but they do use a lot of dairy. They make their own versions of vegelinks and the food is delicious. They are real nice people. They offer their food first to Lord Krishna, which is a purple idol on the alter. |
