Colleen, you are far too kind....All of the ideas that I have presented have been shamelessly stolen from the Rambam's "Mishnah Torah" since I am incapable of sustaining original thought on that otherworldly level. In fact, I have been immensely humbled by the depth of the Rambam's and the Rosh's depth of understanding that is typically ignored by Christians and most horrifyingly, by Adventists (since Adventists loudly proclaim their expertise on, and devotion to the Law). I am not fit to lick the mud off of the Rambam's boots. We spoke once about "The Constitution of the Children of Israel," which is how Judaism has always viewed the first five books of our Old Testament. The Torah is the Foundational document of their society. And each of those five books serve a different function in this seamless legal scheme. Isn't it just plainly obvious that even the most minor violations of the Holy Laws of Yahweh should be punished with death? If Rambam is correct that Genesis is the Constitution's "Sovereignty Statement" - he is King of the Children of Israel since after all he created the universe - then death for violating his statutes is obviously the only logical outcome. He is the source of life. We disobey, as we are mandated to do. Ipso Facto, our life must be removed for this ultimate affront. We deserve the absence of creation ("Life") for our affront against the Creator. That is why the Law is just so utterly and obviously incompatible with Grace. Paul: "The Law is Death." So the King reveals himself as Love Incarnate, and sacrifices himself to substitute for the just and awful penalty the affront against the Creator logically demands. The "Second Creation" - the Resurrection - upends the Rambam's ultimate justice formula. The Pharisees were misguided because their grappling with the Death Penalty was only a half measure: It only made the penalty HARDER to apply. The Resurrection made it impossible. Because the Resurrection abolished the Death Penalty, the Law no longer exists in any meaningful sense of the word! Without the penalty, the law ceased to function. But instead of Ellen White's ignorant and dire prediction that without the Law we would be compelled to a binge of "killing, stealing and lying," the Second Creation instills a new dynamic. The Holy Spirit writes the living law of the New Creation on our hearts, instead of the deathly tablets of stone. The New Creation upended all of the Old Laws of Creation and the Laws of Physics. In the aftermath of the creation-shattering, massive nuclear shock waves of the Resurrection, the separation between humanity and God - the Law and its Death Penalty - was removed. The veil was torn between man and heaven at the instant of the death of the First Creation. Sinai is abolished: We look directly into the Face of God. |

The Second Creation ("The Resurrection") surpassed all physical and legal constraints, and instantaneously made the Mosaic Law repugnant, silly and obsolete. The Mosaic Law celebrated and venerated the First Creation - the beginning of life - with all of its physical and natural laws known and understood. And punished transgressions with death. Those laws bound and dictated human life and death. Especially death. No known law of physics can describe or control what happened on Resurrection morning. The Resurrection is the singularity of world history: We had nothing less in the tomb of Christ than the beginning of a new universe. A corpse arose and glowed brighter than a thousand Suns, exploded out of the space-time continuum, and out of a tomb in 1st Century Judaea. The veil that Moses wore merely to stay alive at Sinai was torn to shreds at the Resurrection. There were more than 500 eyewitnesses to the Risen Christ: None of them died from viewing the sight. They viewed God's hot plasma without eye protection. The Resurrection was a completely-collapsed event horizon and The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ is now available to be projected as a quantum hologram onto our hearts. “The entire Resurrection process is akin to the Big Bang creation of the universe when something was created from nothing,” explains Piczek. “There was a total lack of gravity, lack of entropy (without gravitational collapse), no time, no space, it conforms to no known law of physics.” http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message2227819/pg1 The Mosaic Law was external and foreign to human nature. It celebrated the First creation, which had no witnesses. The yoke of the Law was akin to carrying a corpse on your back, wherever you went, because the First Creation could not be changed or modified by human effort. It was death. The Resurrection, should you choose to accept such an assignment, revolutionizes your mere law-abiding body into a Temple containing the pure fusion energy of the Resurrection.....Love without Constraint. Inside the tomb, the entire universe collapsed into a point of infinity and the Law of Death was was violated and defeated once and for all. The Law of Death, like all laws, works by analogy, scrambling to fit variant fact patterns into the categorical imperative. You sin, you die. It is math. Not in the strange new parallel Universe of the Resurrection. In this parallel universe, the laws of sin and death are no more. They are obsolete and unenforceable. St. Ignatius of Antioch early in the Second Century argued that any thought of the Mosaic Law indicated a lack of Grace. Because the Law, Human Nature, and the Law of Sin were all abolished in this other-worldly, counter-factual revolution. The Law no longer has a monopoly on life and death. Now, outside of the Law we can live forever. We eat bite-sized pieces of this strange new life force when we drink his blood and eat his body, but most of all...... We are blinded by the Son. |

What a great sentence: "The Resurrection…revolutionizes your mere law-abiding body into a temple containing the pure fusion energy of the Resurrection…Love without Constraint." I have often pondered the inexplicable reality that God's miracle granting us eternal life when we trust Jesus involves this "interim" stage in which our still-mortal, natural bodies are the place where the Trinity dwells in the Person of the Holy Spirit. I have no idea exactly what this even "means", much less any idea of how it can be. But I know I am new—and I know that most of us here know that we are new. How does the transcendent God dwell in mortal flesh? I think of Jesus' words in John 14:19-20, 23-25, 29: quote:After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you…If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent me.…Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.
Jesus' own words declare this mystery: He will send the Helper, the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him (Jn. 14:17). The Spirit, the Father, and the Son will come to us who believe and keep Jesus' word, and they will make their abode with us. I don't even know how to talk about this miracle. I just know I must be thankful, and my life could not be what it is without Jesus' blood and His promised presence which NEVER leaves, even when I feel alone. He never leaves! Colleen |

Mjcmcook, Pretty spooky stuff, isn't it? I have always been obsessed with Quantum Mechanics and actually had a full-ride scholarship to attend Princeton, which unfortunately I turned down. It is clear to me that the only reasonable explanation remaining for the Shroud of Turin is through Quantum Mechanics. Science prior to 1990 or so simply lacked the theoretical structure or evaluative tools to apply proper scientific methods to the Shroud. Now, even the respectable QM's are scratching their heads in amazement over it: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19tGkwrdg6cu5mH-RmlKxHv5KPMOL49qEU8MLGL6ojHU/edit?hl=en_US http://royalheir.blogspot.com/2010/03/singularity-found-in-shroud-of-turin.html http://shroudstory.com/2014/03/23/john-klotz-from-his-upcoming-book/ http://shroudstory.com/2012/04/07/john-klotz-science-and-the-resurrection/ http://brogilbert.org/body_christ/3body_resurrection.htm Is the Shroud of Turin really the "5th Gospel?" Remember, these are not Evangelicals arguing the point, but some of the leading QM's in the world! "How was the image formed on the cloth? The answer to this question can be found in a 2012 study by world-renowned Shroud researcher Professor Giulio Fanti of Padua University in Italy. His study strongly suggested that the force which caused the man’s image to be imprinted on the cloth was radiation released in the form of an electrical discharge. In layman’s terms, a burst of light and energy." http://www.bizpacreview.com/2014/04/17/five-reasons-why-the-shroud-of-turin-could-be-authentic-113215 I know for a fact that at Princeton, the QM students frequently sit in on Seminary lectures, suggesting a convergence between Christianity and the latest cutting-edge science. “Joe Nickell won’t even debate me any more,” said Schwortz, who participated in the original STURP team as a Jew who did not believe Jesus Christ was the Messiah. “Joe’s main argument is that faith should never be combined with science, and because I’m not a believer, I take away his biggest weapon.” As a Jew, Schwortz said, he came to the study in 1978 as a total skeptic. “But our science proved the image is not a painting nor a photograph,” he said. “And, finally, after 18 years of study, the evidence convinced me this cloth wrapped the historic Jesus.” Read more: http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/science-shines-new-light-on-shroud-of-turins-age/#ixzz350jMASTJ (Message edited by Resjudicata on June 18, 2014) |

Mjcmcook, The Resurrection certainly deserves all of the obsessive study that it is currently getting from QM: After all it was the "Second Big Bang;""The Second Creation;""The Singularity." I have no doubt that the Shroud of Turin is in fact, "The 5th Gospel." But how can us mere mortals actually incorporate and live inside this amazing parallel universe that was shown so forcefully? What does it mean in our day to day lives? Ultimately, QMs will have to discard their cutting edge analytical tools and humbly submit to the actual words that were given at the time to try to prepare the world for the Second Creation. They are already at a loss for words, after all. Jesus's reliance on parables to describe this "spiritual worm hole;" this "tear in the fabric of the Universe;" this "Portable Higgs Boson" is instructive: Luke 17:20-21 King James Version (KJV) "20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." And: Matthew 16:25 New International Version (NIV) "25 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it." The shocking and instantaneous transformation of the Apostles and the astonishing behavior of First and Second Century Christians simply surpasses QM's clumsy scramble to make sense of the Shroud of Turin. The lives of the Early Christians are just jaw-dropping and unambiguous examples of a supernatural force having resuscitated a flat-lined humanity. Ordinary people became living containers of the essence of Jesus Christ, casting aside day-to-day affairs like so much useless fluff. They had no interest in the survival of their earthly bodies. Paul, a proud-spirited, erudite and brilliant legal student of Gemaliel was struck dumb and blind for three days after he was drug kicking and screaming away from his blinding encounter with a hot flash of spiritual plasma. I know that at best, all I can do is humble myself into a mere container to receive this gift of Eternal Life. It cannot be explained. It must be lived. My identity must simply cease to exist after encountering the Resurrection. (Message edited by Resjudicata on June 19, 2014) |
