I came across this video blog done by Lutheran pastor Jonathan Fisk. I thought he did a pretty good job covering Adventism, especially considering he doesn't come from a SDA background. Thought some of you might enjoy watching it. http://www.worldvieweverlasting.com/?s=8th+day |

Too funny - this guy is a kick. Says a lot of truth about Adventists doctrine and teachings, etc. I had my healthy laugh for the day. Is that wrong of me to find him funny for the way he presents it all? |

Yes, wasn't that mouse a good analogy of trying to do it all yourself running like mad only to be thrown for a loop and out of the running. Too funny and too true. |

He was a little too Lutheran even for me (we come from different synods) but he really nailed Adventist theology. Glad to see a mainstream pastor identifying the issues and putting it out there! And yes, the mouse in the wheel was the perfect picture! Leigh Anne |

I do wish it had been a little less "Lutheran" because I think it would make it easier to share with a wider audience. But it was a Lutheran pastor answering a question from a Lutheran on a Lutheran site. Hard to fault him for answering in the way he did within that context. And it did a great job of tearing down one of the fibs that SDAs use about how their identification of the Papacy as the anti-Christ is the same as what the Reformers did. Here someone who understands what the reformation teaching on the subject actually was sees the plain difference from SDA teaching. How often do you see any never-been SDA have that kind of discernment about what SDAism is really about? And his point about how well are you doing at loving others as Jesus loved really sums up the issue with ANY teaching (like SDAism) that talks about our righteousness (including imparted and infused righteousness) playing any part in our salvation. Lutherans get the clear picture on what sin really means (sometimes too well, to the point of being depressing!). |

He stated it very well and I also liked the mouse but the way he presented it kept your interest. It does not matter to me that a Lutheran or some other church said it as long as it is factual about SDA teachings. |
