This weekend launches a major campaign which is part of the Great Hope project that the SDA church has been actively promoting this past year. There is a major event in New York City and here is the link: http://www.ny13.org/. There is an interview with some of the major world leaders that is worth taking the time to listen to. This is very concerning and we need to continue to pray for protection for innocent people. |

I think there was a huge Net '99 event in New York City led by Doug Batchelor. |

butterfly_poette, I think NYC will leave them alone! Hopefully, not too many souls will get ensnared, but if they do, perhaps they will realize they made a huge mistake and RUN. Once they learn what all is required of them, I'm sure it will give them pause, and perhaps they will then do some further research. I was reading some posts on Spectrum. One of the posters was there in a reporter role. He said that most all of the audience looked to be SDA's. I just don't think it will be at all successful. |

The thing about this campaign, though, is that the GC has funded it and planned for it intentionally. This is the beginning of their outreach to the cities that is only beginning in NYC. They prepped the world audience for this Cities campaign by mailing millions of copies of The Great Hope or The Great Controversy in translations in all the major world languages. This is not just a new, flashy Revelation Seminar. This is Phase III of a well-planned and funded proselytizing program that began in 2011, the anniversary of the last edition of The Great Controversy, when Wilson declared The Year Of The Great Controversy and encouraged all SDAs to read or re-read this cornerstone of Adventist "inspired writings". The next year was targeted for mailing The Great Controversy around the world. They pushed the members to distribute the book personally to as many people as they could, and very cheap copies were available through the ABCs for distribution. In North America the edited version called The Great Hope was widely used. This year is the launch of Evangelism to the Cities with NYC as the kick-off event. They have planned the progression of this event to spread out to the major cities around the world with the intentional plan of conducting lay evangelism schools in each city so an army of local laypeople are left behind to disciple and pursue anyone who showed an interest. They are also being instructed to do civic good deeds, clean-up and helping the poor etc etc. This push is getting momentum from this year's 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the Adventist organization. As Ted Wilson has said, they shouldn't still be here. He is urging members to renewed commitment to finishing the work by throwing their energies into evangelism and witnessing. Remember, they have to finish the work so Jesus can return. They are determined and motivated to make converts. This isn't just another seminar. This is the beginning of a systematic, organized proselytizing drive that will go around the world. Colleen |

Gee, where in the Bible does it say that anyone has to finish the work so Jesus can return?? I pray for all adventists that they meet Jesus and learn what the Bible really says. Diana |

Flyinglady, Jesus will not return until all the nations have heard His Word. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." Matthew 24:14 I have always seen that passage as proof of God's justice because it would be unfair to condemn those who have never heard. Adventists, apparently, hope to take advantage of it to speed up the end times with this campaign. |

Cazperth, I know what the Bible says. It just doesn't say adventists are preventing His coming as I learned in sda schools. Did not explain my self well with my comment. |

Yes Diana, I recall the guilt pushed on us that we were delaying the return of Christ - that God was waiting for His character to be perfectly reproduced in His people before He could return. What rubbish! God the Father knows the day & hour of His coming. The Bible says we can hasten the day but we can't delay it beyond the time that God has set. Ready or not, here He comes! |

In the 18 months or so before we left, we actually heard a sermon by our pastor on the idea that we were delaying the coming of Christ because we hadn't reproduced the character of Christ in the church. And this was at a generally progressive SDA church on SDA hospital property. |

I think Evangelicals and probably all protestants in general are dangerously unaware of just what Adventism is. I remember Dale looking right at one of our elders saying something like take heed and fair warning and it resonated with me. I wonder if we should consider targeting some protestant churches with Proclamation. The whole world needs to know what we know IMSO. Praying for the 'prey' of that campaign is of course our honored duty but I think a 'pre-emptive' strike in any manner is also an honored duty. Most on here know what it's like to been to that hell and back and ought to warn others. Charles |

As a committed evangelical i personally believe in Christ s coming via The Holy Spirit upon baptism, Christs coming via The Holy Spirit at communion, at our deaths and as we recite in the Apostles Creed when He comes again to rule .. As such, I don't get worked up about the loony SDA's who think it's their fault Jesus hasn't came yet. He comes to me frequently in prayer |

Charles, that is a a really good idea. If any of you have names of churches you'd like to put on the list, just email them to us. We have sent the magazine to some evangelical churches. We send it to the evangelical churches within 25 miles of Redlands, and we also send it to Evangelical Free Churches throughout the USA. It's always interesting to me when we get requests from these churches to be taken off the list. These requests do not come from a majority, but they do come. On the other hand, we've spoken with one EV Free pastor who became concerned when he read Proclamation, and he's started talking with his pastoral colleagues in his city and telling them about SDA. He even requested some materials and back issues to give them. So it odes work both ways. Some never respond; some really grab hold of it; some separate from it. Colleen |

They baptized at least 500 people. I do know that most people baptized SDA leave within a year or two. |
