One of my SDA cousins posted 'reason for keeping the Sabbath' on Facebook. I made this comment on the posting and am wondering what reaction I will get:
quote:Reasons why I don’t observe the 'keeping' of the Sabbath: The Sabbath is the sign of the Old Mosaic Covenant which was a ‘treaty’ or contract between the Hebrew people and God. The Sign and Seal of the New Covenant is the gift of the Holy Spirit who indwells all those who accept the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which was completed at Calvary. The Sabbath is and always has been about rest. Worshiping on the Sabbath, even when Jesus walk here on earth was only a manmade tradition. Our Sabbath rest is in the person of Jesus Christ and no longer refers to a certain day. When you rest in Jesus it is because true rest is all about the curse of sin which Jesus took upon himself at Calvary without him ever being a sinner. When the Samaritan woman at the well asked Jesus where was the correct place to worship God, Jesus’ reply was that it was (soon in their day) no longer a question about where. The issue concerning the Sabbath did not even enter into Jesus’ reply. Instead, he made it clear that the only way to worship God is through the spirit. The bottom line is this: Have you accepted the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of you sins, been born again where you dead human spirit is now alive through our Savior’s gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit and where you are now declared to be a part of the kingdom of God? If so, you can now both rest in your Savior and worship God every moment of every day on into eternity with true Sabbath rest.

Hey Phil! What a clear, easy to understand explanation. I love how you articulated your reason. Looking forward to finding out the reaction. I'm sure you've planted some seeds here, and pray that these words will bless friends and family. Well done! Leigh Anne |

Dear Phil, you will get up their dander with that post because they can't refute it so it'll be round n round they go trying to make sense of their own argument. You gave a fine reply. |

Great job Phil. As Diana said, you have planted the seed and now it is up to them to water it. I hope that their veil will be lifted even a little bit for them to start to see the truth. Gail |
