If Christ has not been raised .... then we would still be in our sins. Let me emphasize this scriptural truth one more time. . Christians are giddy about Resurrection Day (Easter), because if Christ had not been raised from the dead - we would not have ANY hope. Our faith would be completely silly and futile if Christ was not raised from the dead. We celebrate Easter, because it is the most glorious Biblical truth and foundational to the gospel. We DO NOT celebrate Easter, because Jesus rose on Sunday. We celebrate Resurrection Sunday, because Jesus rose from the dead and we are no longer in our sins. The twisted understanding in Adventism - that it is wrong to celebrate Easter, because it honors "Sunday" denying the "true day to worship" on (Saturday) ... is a lie from the father of lies! This is a deception to keep people away from the worship of the One True Lord WHO ROSE from the dead - verifying His glorious grace - that we, too, may share in being bodily resurrected!!! I just need this twisted lie of Adventist understanding to be revealed for what it is .... a lie from the father of lies. Carolyn | ||

My kin make a big deal out of this because they are stuck with the belief of a Wednesday cruisuxion and a different day resurrection. So, we cannot even get past the days of the week to the purpose of the resurrection. It is frutile with my kin. Nonetheless, thanks. | ||

Wow! This is what I've been trying to explain to some SDAs, but you articulated it much better--any chance I could sure your words on another site? And "giddy" is the perfect word--our Easter service yesterday was so powerful & everyone was so happy--giddy with joy!!! I noticed people weeping for joy (well, I was one...but I saw others, too, overcome with emotion). | ||

Thank you for this link mj- I have a play list on YouTube and now this is added! Sunday as I pulled into the lot at church and parked my car next to my friend and prayer partner my CD in my car was just at the part in "in Christ Alone- travis cotrell version- that says there in the ground His body lay.... THEN BURSTING FORTH.... And as He stands in VICTORY SIN HAS LOST IT'S GRIP ON ME NOW I AM HIS AND HE IS MINE... " was playing at fill tilt on my CD and we wept standing together with our hands raised toward Heaven and praised Him before we could even go in... This is the second Easter in my life that the "giddy" fullness of joy has just burst out of me at this celebration of my risen Lord! I am just so deeply glad and in awe that He called me home and that I know my Shepherds voice even through my lifetime of confusion and lost ness ... Praising Him this morning ! | ||

Rocky, when we sing the words "then bursting forth in glorious day ...up from the grave He rose again!", everyone breaks out in spontaneous applause and shouts of joy. Aren't these songs of praise just awesome? I used to (as a SDA) think: "Heaven will go on & on & on & on & on...forever, never-ending & that sounds boring. What will we do forever & ever?" Duh! Now that I get to sing praise & worship songs with a whole lot of believers, I know I'll NEVER get bored singing to Him....forever! (What I used to think sounds just awful, but I actually thought it! Didn't have a clue!) | ||
