A few days ago my wife and I received written confirmation that our request for membership removal had been approved. We are no longer Seventh-day Adventists. God has used many of you on FAF to support, encourage, and challenge me through this process and I am very grateful for the time you have given. For any current Adventists viewing this post, it is important for you to realize that the basis for our decision to leave Adventism stemmed from the inability for us to reconcile the Gospel message of Jesus Christ with many of Adventism's Fundamental Beliefs. It was a very slow process. There were many fearful years between when we first started to realize a change in our thinking to when we fully embraced the New Covenant Gospel of Jesus Christ as an anchor for our souls. Most importantly, If you consider the old covenant Law of Moses to still be in effect for the new covenant believer as a tool of measurement in your life then you have missed it. Consider what I believe is the most compelling evidence against such a belief - Hebrews 7:11-14. Please read it slowly! Did you see it? Something about a change in priesthood...change in law...Jesus from the tribe of Judah...Moses says nothing about a priest from this tribe. Jesus...a law-breaker from birth! Thank God for the New Covenant in his blood! |
