My great aunt and I recently ate lunch together and she mentioned something that caught my attention. She said that Mary punished Jesus as a child with vinegar and rewarded him with...something or other, I don't really remember: maybe honey? I said, "Wow. Where in the Bible does it say that?" She said she'd show me, but we got side tracked when I took her home. Obviously this isn't in the Bible. All I remember ever reading about Jesus growing up is in Luke 2, and there's no mention of vinegar there. So, I'm thinking this is an EGWism, but I've never heard of it, not that I really grew up immersed in EGW. I'm just curious about what you guys have to say about it. |

Wow. No, I haven't heard of this, but that doesn't mean EGW didn't say something or other...but I really haven't heard of this. I do know that EGW spoke against vinegar and claimed she herself had a vinegar addiction which she had to get over. Sigh. I don't know where your great aunt might have gotten this idea... Colleen |

I've never heard of that one, either. Maybe some of the others have... |

I've never heard this and we had practically every Ellen White book growing up, read them frequently for family worship, and were completely immersed in Ellen White everything. I would be very surprised if that were there and I missed it. |
