I got this from a youth SS lesson that explains the history of the Investigative Judgment doctrine. **** Some Millerites took heart from this new revelation unlocking the Great Disappointment and pressed on to become Seventh-day Adventists. The good news of the sanctuary became their unique contribution to Christianity. **** First of all, there is NO GOOD NEWS in the sanctuary message. Second, is "Christianity" aware that this doctrine was a "contribution" from the SDAs? *shaking my head* |

just as the good news that "As man is, God was and as God is, man can be" is Mormonism's unique contribution to Christianity... |

Back when I was an Adventist, I wasn't real clear on some of the investigative judgement, which made me nervous because EGW said it was vitally important that people know about it. Anyway, don't SDAs teach that Jesus blood carried the sin from Earth and placed it all around God the Father in the Heavenly Sanctuary? After all, since no place is holier than God, the Most Holy Place would of course be wherever He is, so the sins would kind of follow Him around wherever He went! Yuck! Doesn't the Bible say that sin can't exist in God's Presence? Not to mention that the Bible says in Hebrews 10:12 that after Jesus ascended, "He sat down at the right hand of God," so He didn't wait until 1844 to go into the Most Holy Place! See also Hebrews 6:19-20 and Hebrews 9:25. |

"The good news of the sanctuary became their unique contribution to Christianity." Really? The good news that some angel was assigned to write down all your sins and you better keep up because if they get more than you can recall it's the lake of fire for you? Huh... Wonder what bad news is? |

Exactly! You thought you were acquitted at the Cross but the Adventists come knock on your door to inform you that you are still on trial, but if you try and try harder, you might be worthy of Jesus' blood applied to your sins.... THAT IS NOT GOOD NEWS. |

If the Millerites were such ardent "students of Scripture", as they claim, just exactly what were they doing on October 22, 1844 expecting Jesus to come, which is a direct contradiction of Scripture? |
