The interesting thing to me about this book, Nowisee, is that it is fairly current. When I was growing up, I did hear this story somewhere in my past, but it wasn't a point of focus, and I forgot about it until you mentioned it a few years ago. This story has been resurrected, and a whole new generation of kids has heard it. This is the occultic core of this movement showing. For more evidence of this component within the Adventist heritage, look again at the cover of the Quarterly for last quarter on 1 and 2 Thessalonians: http://biblestudiesforadventists.com/2012/quarter3/index.html The picture is of the "second coming", but the rainbows around the "coming" is a picture of an aura. Notice the colors and shape. This is not a normal rainbow; it's an aura. If this isn't enough to generate a bit of uneasiness, look at the cover of the first quarter's Quarterly from 2012: http://biblestudiesforadventists.com/2012/quarter1/index.html The picture of Jesus there is so reminiscent of the occultic goat's head. The Title is, "Glimpses of Our God". I think the picture reveals far more than most people think. Colleen |

goodness..... I just went and looked at both of those covers and they did indeed make me cry :'( People are studying those books and don't even realize what evil they are holding in their hands. Lord, please continue to reach out to ALL who are willing to take hold of you and be lead out of darkness. |

Here is a quote from "The Green Cord Dream" by Alex Bryan. "What makes Adventists unique? How would you answer this question? I’d answer it by pointing to our unique beginning. Adventism isn’t peculiar or special because of our Sabbath keeping, vegetarian cuisine, or remnant claims. Adventism’s uniqueness is found at its historical root: Jesus." Really?!? Adventism is unique because of it's root being Jesus? Excuse me, but that's the definition of ALL Christianity. How does Jesus being the root make Adventism unique in any way, shape or form? That statement is so crazy it's difficult to imagine an educated person thinking it, let alone puting it in writing and allowing it to go to print! This seems to be a clear example of a mind controlled by evil. It ceases to think clearly and rationally and an otherwise intelligent person makes completely uneducated, ignorant remarks. Another quote... "There have been, and there are, lots of human beings — billions and billions over many generations. But God did something special in this one case. God poured God — all of God — into a human zygote. A human egg from one of Mary’s ovaries, fertilized by the Spirit. And nine months later He was born: the Superhuman." Somehow this description makes me nauseated. To refer to Jesus Christ, the Son of God as a "Superhuman" makes me ill. Another example of bringing Jesus down to a level of humanity that does not honor who He really is. |

"Adventism isn’t peculiar or special because of our Sabbath keeping, vegetarian cuisine, or remnant claims. Adventism’s uniqueness is found at its historical root: Jesus." Lyrical, I do believe this is true. There are many organizations who practice unbiblical spiritual disciplines. But the Adventist Jesus is what makes Adventism unique. He isn't the Lord Jesus Christ, he is an imposter. |

Colleen and Nowisee, I couldn't agree with you more. This isn't just the result of a disability. Certainly she is diagnosable as NPD, among other things... but, Ellen G. White was a broken, abused, and demonically motivated woman. To believe that SDA'ism is the result of a brain injury is to me like saying the world was created through a big bang. No- there was "intelligent design" involved in creating this cult. |

Lyrical, I agree. It's nauseating to read that description of Jesus. No matter how they try to deny it, Adventism negates the eternal identity of Jesus as being the great I AM, Yahweh of the Old Testament. Jesus IS GOD. Adventism says He is God, but they teach him as god. Colleen |

I've been an avid (lifelong) student of psychology, self-improvement, etc. Since last year I've been reading up a lot on various forms of personality disorders (thanks to good ol' Google providing resources from experts in the field). I've learned that personality disorders often stem from prenatal/birth/childhood trauma. (Cases in point - those who stared "cults," and yes, the usual suspects: Joseph Smith, EGW, etc. I wouldn't even want to wish stuff that happened to them when they were young on my worst enemies.) General human/life issues stem from emotional/psychological/spiritual wounds or injuries from the early years of life that haven't been fully healed, and so the vicious cycle/domino effect continues. |
