My neighbor, who is an exceptionally fine person is athiest. He did tell me i am the first Christian He can stomach being around so i will take it as a complament. He not only abhors Christianity but all religions. Has no use for any of them. To the point of refusing medical care from a hospital that IS owned by a religious organization. He's a nice neighbor. How do i witness? |

You might have him read the prophecy about Jesus in the 53rd chapter of Isiah. It was prophesied hundreds of years before Jesus life and death and it tells us what he died for. If after that he still does not believe, then he is purposely refusing. There have been more than one atheist converted because of that prophecy. River |

With someone in that situation I don't give a verbal witness at first. I believe they will see it through the anti religion glasses they are wearing. I do not hide my christianity but I don't push it forward either. I find that after a while curiosity may get the best of that person. When they ask a question I will be happy to answer. Doing this over the years God has given me hundreds of opportunities to witness for him without pushing my faith on someone who does not desire it. |

Forgot to add. It says something posative about your christianity that he does not find you offensive. |

I'm with Capross (but not necessarily against you, River ). Since your neighbor is so anti-Christian, maybe just witnessing through your actions and answering questions as this person brings them up is a good start. I would be afraid that bringing up religious topics would scare the other person off. I'm thinking maybe letting them see what Jesus does in your life will lead to them to start asking about Christianity. |

I appriciate all the good advice. Me and him meet for a daily knock-out game of Scrabble. He told me he used to refuse food and charity from churches but then it dawned on him the churches don't pay income tax so now he'll take all he can get from them. Mother Tereaa once said to live your life in a Christian manner because your face may be the only face of Jesus somneone ever sees. That statement by her has made a big impact on me and every day when I get up I ask our Lord and Saviour to let me live up to that. |

In Australia most people are like your neighbor. My rule is to never say anything religious unless asked. The scrabble is a good start. I get the impression Jesus met people where they were at. My current employer is an avowed atheist. I've worked for him for 9 years now. When there is no work pressure all he wants to talk about is religious stuff. Much of the criticism he makes is very valid so I try to never contradict him unless I can do it gently. I think, possibly, many of these people are deep down longing for something real, better. Who knows, maybe the Joly Spirit is already conceived in his life. What God conceives He will bring to birth. Just be a friend. Greg. |

IMO~ people need to see more than the "face" of JESUS in you~ They need to Hear the "GOOD NEWS" ! And if You do not tell him~who will? ~mj~ |
