Dear friends, I want to encourage you all to come to this webinar. Andrew Farley is one of the (very few, it seems), true New Covenant teachers. His book Naked Gospel (located here: http://diplateevo.com/Resources/the-naked-gospel.pdf) was very helpful to me, even after leaving SDA. I read it in 2010 in an airport during a long layover, and I'll never forget that special experience. It was a tad embarrassing because I could not stop crying as I was reading. He explains better than most other teachers (IMO) the differences between the old and new covenants. He talks about the difficult passages in Matthew that refer to the law (ie., be perfect like your Father is perfect). He talks about how Jesus is unqualified to serve as our high priest under the Old Covenant because He's from the tribe of Judah, not Levi. He really *gets* the book of Hebrews. He tackles the difficult Hebrews passages (e.g., "falling away") that SDAs use to prove that we can lose our salvation. Understanding and articulating these concepts are essential when speaking with questioning SDAs and also for answering skeptics' questions about why the Old Testament God seems so different from Jesus. Also, skeptics may ask you about some of the very difficult teachings of Jesus (cutting off your hand if you sin, etc), and Andrew will help you give clear, consistent explanations to those folks. Best of all, Andrew Farley understands former SDAs, even though he isn't one. I've personally been in contact with him, and he knows enough about SDA doctrine to really understand our questions and concerns. Hope to "see" you at the webinar!
