We have been studying Proverbs (Bible alone) and discussing the popular moral decline in the United States. Specifically, Gay marriage. The question came up weather or not America is currently under judgement. I was astounded by the answer given by our study leader (a retired Lutheran pastor. He said, It's possible, perhaps even likely, but, we can't know for sure". Think about it. When we were SDA There were all kinds of words put in God's mouth, especially where scripture is silent. Everyone was also under some kind of judgment for high crimes only found in the writings of EGW. While I'm at it, lets also mention adding to the book of Revelation. I'm just so blown away by honest Bible study and discussion where the word speaks for God. |

You will find that Lutherans are very open and accepting about the ambiguities and uncertainties that are sometimes found in the Bible. |

It is amazing, isn't it? Scripture clears really does inform daily life, and honesty with the ambiguities leaves one depending upon God, not upon one's analysis. That's one of the continuing amazements to me: I can trust God; I don't have to have a formula to explain what I see. His word gives me a paradigm, and He is the center of it. I can trust Him; I don't have to explain the world completely. For sure we know that reality is not limited to what we SEE. Colleen |

It really does all come down to TRUST <3 The non denominational church I attend gives this advice on things not found or made clear in the Bible "Speak where the Bible speaks, and remain silent where the Bible is silent" We don't have to have all the answers to everything. If we did, God would have given them to us. |

Skeeter, How true about not having all the answers. SDA is not happy not having all the answer so in comes EGW to settle the problem even if she is wrong. |
