been a thread you guys can reference about why Christians worship on Sunday? I know how to find many of the quotes from early church history in Sabbath and the Lord's Day, but was wondering if there was an old post so I could save myself some typing and research... Thanks |

Here is a link to a great sermon about the Lord's Day or Resurrection Day: http://www.biblebb.com/files/MAC/90-225.htm Dennis Fischer |

Thanks Dennis. I really enjoyed reading that. One question - how do we know that it was Sunday when John says in Revelation that the Spirit came to him on "the Lord's Day?" Very good sermon! |

Hi Cordurb Good question. DM Canright suggested that if it were Saturday John would have just said that he was in the spirit on the Sabbath. The term would have worked just fine, and everybody would have understood it to be the seventh day. Bob |

Exactly, Bob. Jews—and John was a Jew—always called the seventh day "Sabbath". "Lord's Day" was a Christian term, not a Jewish term. It did not refer to the Jewish Sabbath. Colleen |
