Here in the first verse and part of the second verse of Hebrews 1, is where God tells us how He speaks to us in these last days. "God, Who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son..." Here in the "Testimonies for the Church" vol. 4, (about pg. 147 at the end of chapter 14); Ellen White tells us how God speaks to us now. "In ancient times God spoke to men by the mouth of prophets and apostles. In these days He speaks to them by the Testimonies of His Spirit." Anyone see a difference? (Also notice in Hebrews 1:3 that it says that Jesus "sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high," whereas Ellen White said in "Early Writings" that Jesus waited until 1844 to go into the Most Holy Place in Heaven. What place would be holier than where God is? See also Hebrews 6:19,20) |

That quote of Ellen's really upsets me. She deliberately wrote herself into the Hebrews text and took out Jesus. The nerve is unimaginable. Colleen |

What I see is the same pattern that she used when she copied from her stacks of available books. She took a sentence or paragraph that she liked, tweaked it here and there to fit her agenda, and wrote it as her own words. But you are right Colleen, the audacity is hard to comprehend, seeing that this is actually God's Word!! I think it is like any sin that you continue in. You do a little here and there, justify it, and then become bolder and pretty much you end up thinking it's ok. |
