Well, I have written about this dude before and received some great feedback from many of you, but I this is something I need to share.

I guess this dude has about 36 DVDs out now and my wife watches them continuously. Additionally, she is constantly burning discs and passing them to our non sda friends.

To date I have only watched a couple, but I guess I need to dig into them in self defense.

Anyone out the think that former sda ministries will begin to investigate and probe these to make sure an untwisted representation of the bible as it pertains to these DVDs is out there? Seems to me if my wife is using these as a tool, many sdas will be as well.

Do you think I should watch these videos?

Thanks

I think you should watch them so you know exactly what you are dealing with and how to respond to your wife about them.
Maybe you could act interested and watch them with her and then do some investigating and ask her to discuss openly with you and show her the truth according to the Bible

Why would one need to evangelize christians in the first place? Seem a bit redundant to you?

Definition:

1. convert to Christianity: to convert somebody or the people of an area to Christianity, especially by preaching or missionary work

Just thinking, (sighing) outloud.

SDAs want to give Christianity the "rest of the story" because the Bible is not enough.

My view here is simple:

When you add in the "rest of the story" you are turning the gospel into no gospel. Anyone who does that doesn't understand the gospel because grace is not a a free gift plus something we must do. When we "work" for something we recieve "wages". There is nothing we can do to add to God's free gift.

Only a fool would say to Jesus Christ on cross; "Move over because a need to join you and help out with what you are doing for me".

Phil, that's what SDAs do though. Because they believe in the investigative judgment, they don't think the atonement is finished.

Furthermore, by believing in the investigative judgment, they are, in effect, saying that the apostle Paul is lying in 2nd Timothy 4:8 "...there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, WILL GIVE TO ME ON THAT DAY..." How could Paul have known that he would get a crown since the investigative judgment wouldn't start for another 1800 years?!!!
And they also would be saying he is lying when he tells believers that they "have been saved" in Ephesians 2:8,9; 2nd Timothy 1:9 and Titus 3:5.

And again when the apostle John tells believers that their sins "are forgiven" (1st John 2:12) couldn't be accepted by Adventists because by the time the letter got to his readers, SURELY at least one of them would have sinned! That would mean - gasp! - that their future sins would have been forgiven! :-)

It's so sad how all the false religions remove the gospel. :-( And they all do - Islam - Roman Catholic - Seventh-day Adventist - J. Witness - Later Day Saint - Hindu - etc. etc...

I get all that but I think this guy is becoming an authority for sdas. Seems it would be wise to figure out what he is "preaching."

Cordurb, I can see the sense in your watching at least a representation of them...it doesn't seem you'd need to watch them all. Adventism is Adventism. There are different "twists" but underneath they hold the same basic heresies: eternally significant Sabbath, soul sleep with its implications, great controversy worldview, and respect for EGW. Plus they don't take the Bible literally and authoritatively; EGW must interpret.

If you have a "sense" of Vieth's "brand" you don't have to hear it all. If you know the main "twist" he teaches and you know the Bible, you can refute the man.

God will give you wisdom. He has promised!
