We just got our online registration working for the coming FAF weekend. It will be February 12-14, and Mark Martin is giving the opening night talk on Feb. 12. The title for the weekend is Defending the Faith. Carolyn Macomber will be giving her faith story that night, and we'll also have a short video by Pastor Phil Bubar from the St. Joseph, MI, EV Free church where he and his wife co-host the newest FAF group with Carolyn. Dale Ratzlaff will speak during the weekend, and also Greg Taylor, who will conduct Saturday evening's communion service. Other presenters include Gary Inrig, Jon Rittenhouse, Bill Born, Jim Valentine of CARIS, Joanie Yorba-Gray, and more. Steve Pitcher will also be giving his faith story. The cost for the weekend is $65 per person and includes meals, handouts, free stuff, etc. It's a wonderful time--please come! You can register online here: http://www.formeradventist.com/ If last year's graphic comes up, hit "refresh", and you'll see the graphic for this next one. Can you imagine? This is the Fifth annual FAF weekend! Amazing! I am so thankful to God for bringing all of this about, for Trinity Church's commitment to this group in spite of the local opposition they've had from Loma Linda, and for the Inrigs' pastoral discernment and commitment to nurturing the former Adventists who dare to visit and end up staying. God is faithful, and His purposes cannot fail. I praise Him for what He is doing! Colleen |

You might go out and sell Rattle Snake hides fer extry money, you would only have to sell about ten million of them to buy a plane ticket and bribe hubby into keeping the kids. River |

Colleen, A friend of mine showed me a cell phone picture her daughter took in Redlands this morning. Things seem a little reversed. We are having sixty degree weather up here and you have the "white stuff". Fearless Phil |

Ha!! Yes, we had snow on our lawn this morning--it's so unusual we took pictures before walking in the 34-degree rain to look at it from the vantage point of the hills across the street! It's supposed to warm up next week...it's been actually fun to have winter for a change! Colleen |

We've gotten well over 2 feet of snowfall since Monday where I live (in east-central Arizona), with heavy rain in the middle of it, and up to 2 feet of snow still on the ground now, as the storm is finally winding down (although it's still snowing!). They say it's one of the worst storms ever for AZ, with many higher locations receiving over 5-6 feet of snow, and bad flooding problems in lower elevations. The power has been out twice so far, but as of right now it's on! Jeremy (Message edited by Jeremy on January 23, 2010) |

Your harsh weather sounds terrible to cope with, Jeremy. It has been a cold, snowy winter so far here in eastern Nebraska as well. Likewise, the weather is bad in Europe this winter. Stay warm and don't overdo the snow shoveling. Dennis Fischer |

I just saw Jeremy's post now...my goodness, Jeremy! Snow in AZ?! It must be your storm that Mary is now experiencing... I want to remind everyone to register now for the FAF weekend. It's in two weeks; Feb 12-14, and it's going to be good. We just receive the 10-min. DVD "report" from Phil Bubar, the senior pastor at the EV Free church, The Chapel, in St. Joseph MI where the newest FAF has formed. Richard and I just watched it this afternoon, and it made me cry (no, really!). He is SOO clear, and he states his own experience of gradually learning the truth about Adventism. He makes a powerful statement about the spiritual effect of EGW on Adventists. Of course, it's in context, and it's not said bitterly. He's addressing pastors and encouraging them to take seriously the need to minister to Adventists who come to their churches. We will definitely there, Sharon and I. There is such a blessing in meeting former Adventists and sharing our experiences. You can always make new friends. The presentations are superb and there's always something new, especially delving into God's word. Even with a small group, it will be great, but we'll miss you. The weather will probably be pleasant, from what I'm seeing for February. I could be drastically wrong, but on the other hand, how does our worst weather compare to what most of you are dealing with now? In one of the breakout sessions, I'll be giving a Powerpoint talk on Acts 17, "Idols, Demons, and the Prophet," about Paul's sermon to the Athenians and philosophers on Mars Hill. We'll look at how this amazing little speech lays out the requirements of true worship, and what this means for worship on the Sabbath. Hope you can come! Martin C |

Hey River and Phil, River, I'm sorry you can't come. There will be a Proclamation article coming out soon, I think maybe Spring if I read Colleen right. Giving the Powerpoint at FAFW will help solidify what goes into the article; some of it is rather liquid still. As far as taping goes, I don't know, we can discuss it with El Queso Grande, aka Richard. Martin C |

Colleen, The video report sounds great! BTW, it does snow fairly often in this part of AZ (I'm at 6,500 feet elevation). But not this much usually! To see what it looked like at the ski resort near here (where they got 6-9 feet of snow), click here and here. (And click here for more photos of the ski area, and here for a photo gallery of the snow in towns around here.) Jeremy (Message edited by Jeremy on January 29, 2010) |

I'm going to be praying throughout the day that God will provide a way for all of you that want to come to the weekend, but feel you can't...even at this late date. Skeeter, River, Sondra--and all others, just watch and see if God makes a way, OK? What's impossible with us, is certainly possible with Him... If you are in the area come!! If you're not in the area, come anyway! If you know anyone in the area that might want to attend the open Friday night meeting, invite them! Mark Martin will certainly preach the Word! They may just want to stay for the rest of the weekend. |

I'm praying for God to move in a big way that weekend, for safety to and from for all who plan to go and for "fence sitters" or even just the curious to be there to hear about the God who can redeem even people caught in the trap of the SDA church Enoch |

Yes, Richard--Friday evening is free and all are welcome. The rest of the weekend is also open to anyone interested...but it involves registering and paying $65 because it involves food, handouts, and a free book. This is promising to be a very rich weekend. I am amazed at how some of the classes and presentations are dove-tailing with each other! I am continuing to pray that God will prod all those who need to come, to be there. Just yesterday we received four more registrations, one from a Christian in Loma Linda who has never been SDA but wants to understand it. I'm so thankful for God's sovereignty and timing. He is organizing and shaping this weekend. Even Gary's sermon for next weekend is absolutely dead-on for addressing the Adventist situation. His text will be Galatians 1:6-10. I asked His wife today if he specifically planned this sermon for this weekend, or if it was God. She shook her head—no, he did not specifically plan the timing. "It was God," she responded. I just thank Him for what He is doing... Please come if you can. You won't be sorry! You can still register online here: http://www.formeradventist.com/weekends/fafweekend2010.html Colleen |
