Since becoming a born again Christian I have learned what is important about Thanksgiving. It is not about the pilgrims and food. To me it is being thankful to God for all He has done for me and given me and how He has changed me, for the better. Of all things He has done for me is that Jesus Christ came to this earth, lived here 30 some years, died for me and was resurrected. He now sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. Ohh, how blessed we are to have Him as our Saviour. Thank you God for Jesus Christ. What are you thankful for this years?? Diana L |

On this Thanksgiving Day, may we keep gratitude alive in our hearts. Consequently, people will be glad at the sight of us. As former Adventists, we have an extra special blessing to be thankful for; specifically, that God's rescue mission was successful in our behalf. "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" (Ps.107:1 ESV). Dennis Fischer |

Happy Thanksgiving one and all. I am so thankful that Jesus has paid my sin debt in full, that God the Father is satisfied with that debt and the Holy Spirit bears witness that I am no longer God's enemy but rather His friend!! Enoch |

I'm so thankful to be alive and forgiven! "Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us" (Romans 8:33-34). I'm just so thankful. Colleen |

So thankful to be adopted of God - into His family, and for being brought out of deception into His wonderful truth and freedom in the Spirit. I realize more and more every day how everything good in my life is all of Him. On a very lesser note.. I was having terrible gallbladder pain for the last few months. A couple weeks ago it had gotten to the point I couldn't eat anything without pain, and sometimes it was very intense. We have no insurance so even going in for diagnostics is something that would put us in a major bind, let alone surgery. I knew I was at the point I would have to, so I began praying for wisdom and for an alternative, and my husband was praying for just a total healing. After some research, I found a "cleanse" that I believed would at least not hurt me, and worth a try. It was successful, and a few days afterward felt better than I have felt since before I had my last two kids! I have not felt this great in years, and enjoyed Thanksgiving yesterday without pain or fear of emergency surgery. I am so thankful for restored health and God's merciful care for us. So so so much to be thankful for, every day! Sondra |

Praise God for touching your body with His healing, Sondra. We had our FAF group over tonight; the church is closed the day after Thanksgiving, so we have our group to the house for Thanksgiving leftovers and communion and a time of retrospection/thanks and singing. It's always a really special time--Richard puts the exterior Christmas lights up before everyone arrives, and we indulge in turkey sandwiches and leftover pie and mashed potatoes and yams and....! What really overwhelms me is seeing the lives that have changed over the years. We have new people and long-term people, and seeing the spiritual maturity develop in some who a few years ago were so on the edge, just beginning to question Adventism but daring to visit, and to see them today alive in Jesus and not afraid to witness and speak for the Lord Jesus...it's quite overwhelming. God is so faithful! Colleen |

Coming in late with a thanks--for caring Christian brothers & sisters, for God being in control, for not feeling the pressure of trying to pay for my own sins any more! For blood family that still loves me, (but I still wish this joy for them!) and that God may use me to continue to have the courage to witness to them and to truly love them, as He loves us. And I am thankful that God will provide for the physical needs of all of us, even when things are sparse! |
