Jeremy, I just read your whole paper, and find myself at a loss for words, dumbfounded!. How could ANYONE still believe in the inspiration of this bigoted, stupid, cruel, illogical, unbiblical, cold, heartless, self-righteous, disgusting idiot? No wonder the White Estate is secretive! No wonder they have not put ALL of her writings out in print for all to read! I only regret all the ignorant years I thought of her as God's inspired nessenger. Dear Lord, please forgive me! Colleen, Is there any chance you might put Jeremy's web pages into Proclamation? You wouldn't even need a single word of commentary--it speaks for itself! Yen |

I do see the possibility of having columns such as, "EGW on (pick a topic)" and featuring several salient quotes. Interesting idea...thanks! Colleen |

I thought this was kinda strange.... EGW: "Let those colored men who are fitted for the position of superintendent in a Sabbath School remember that they may do a much-needed work by establishing Sunday Schools and Sabbath Schools among the colored people." She was encouraging "colored people" to establish BOTH "SUNDAY schools AND Sabbath schools" ? I find that strange.... since she taught that EVERYONE who worships on Sunday is receiving the mark of the beast... and yet... she is encouraging "colored People" to establish BOTH Sunday and Sabbath schools....? Wassup with that ????? Francie |

Also, I agree with the above posts that EGW most likely was of mixed ancestry. I also find it strange that there are no photos of her Mother... and as far as HER photos I have always felt that she was of mixed blood. As for her facial "disfigurement" I dont know how much "disfigurement" there actually was,,, after all she was hit with ONE rock on ONE area of her face... I wouldnt think it would "disfigure" her whole face... ? Are there photos of her before the rock incident ? As we all know there are very attractive , as well as very unattractive people in all races of people , with the majority being someplace in the middle....I just feel that she was most probably an unattractive person even before she got hit with the rock. (?) BUT... the important thing is not if she was of mixed ancestry or not.. (I am a mixed "Mutt" of 4 different <that> lineages myself) but that she WAS without doubt a FALSE "prophet" who even all these years after her death is STILL responsible for deceiving so many of us and our loved ones. |

You can compare pictures of EGW in White Washed, by Sydney Cleveland. In one pair of pictures (front of the book, just after the Table of Contents), she is shown at age 85 before photographic retouching was done, and at an unspecified but elderly age, after retouching. And on p. 203, she is shown (also photographically retouched) with her twin sister at age 51. Her twin was apparently a very ordinary-looking old lady, perhaps on the homely side, but most photos of that era tended to show people in rather stiff poses, without smiling or displaying much personality. In the unretouched picture (age 85), the damage to her face is evident. The rock broke her nose, obliterating the bridge and giving her face a strange "pug-nosed" look; she was definitely not pretty to look at. As far as racial characteristics are concerned, I would draw no conclusions from the pictures. The twins' hair is very straight, not curly as people of mixed heritage tend to have. Often, but not always, black features include a broader nose than the typically more "pinched" nose of northern Europeans, but of course, this is only a generalization and is certainly not definitive. Just based on the face of her twin sister, I can't see anything to hint at a black heritage. And since no records exist, I would avoid even guessing. I really don't care about her ancestry; it is probably impossible to determine, anyway. Early in American history, slaves were at the mercy (?) of sometimes extremely abusive owners; many female slaves were used sexually by their owners. But at this point in time, most of the characteristics have been so scrambled, no one can even say what their own family tree contains back more than a very few generations. In the 1980's I worked and socialized with Vietnamese people more than with Americans. One of the very interesting things they told me was that their families kept books of the family lineages going back for many centuries. Because Buddhists pray for and revere their ancestors, these records are very important. When I read the ancestral records of Jesus--4000 years worth, more or less--I am amazed. Most Americans, I think it is safe to say, have nothing comparable to these other cultures. My family tree only goes back about 150 years, and only through one branch, at that. Whether EGW had "black blood" or not really doesn't matter. The fact that she held such racist ideas, and that she wrote them down and told others that her messages came from God, is powerful proof of her fraudulent claims. |

We cannot trust the writings attributed to Ellen White and not even her air-brushed photos. She was not only very controversial in real life, but she was even controversial in her death (e.g., the 33-day delay in her burial after her third funeral). The graveside service after her third funeral on a Saturday afternoon, in Battle Creek, Michigan, was a deception. Everyone there (including the news reporters) certainly thought her body would be interred within minutes after the graveside service. They even threw a few clods of soil on her casket to look like a typical burial. Instead, her body was removed from the open grave to a vault maintained by the morticians. Why the long delayed interment? The White Estate claims that they do not know the reason. Your guess is as good as mine. Dennis Fischer |

Dennis, That's just plain weird! Maybe because they were still deciding on the details of that obelisk/grave stone! |

They know - they have to - maybe not everyone - but the key people there do - they have to... I've wonder if someone wanted an autopsy done so they could examine her brain. (I'm not speaking facetiously. I wonder if they wanted to know they cause of the seizures and whether or not she had epilepsy or some other disorder.) |

Isn't it irrelevant whether she had "some black blood" or not? It wouldn't add speck of credibility. It wouldn't make her failed prophecies any truer. It wouldn't absolve her of her plagiarism. It wouldn't make her racism any more palatable. It wouldn't make her untruthful testimonies any more true. It wouldn't make her a true prophet or any worse of a false one. Whatever her physical roots were is beside the point. It is her idiotic writings, her distortions of Biblical truth, and her failed prophecies that made her what we know her to be---A COMPLETE FRAUD! |

Joyfulheart, Yes, the immediate members of the White family were probably afraid that Dr. John Kellogg would exhume her body and do an autopsy on her brain. At that point in time, they did not trust him for a variety of reasons. Dr. Kellogg was unpredictable and very strange. However, the White family was very strange as well. In awe of the guilt-removing, sin-atoning sacrifice of Jesus, Dennis Fischer |
