We used to belong to a sda-church where a independed ministry is connected. This ministry runs every year a summer camp. This year I took the oportunity to sell some of our old sda litterature etc there. As I went up there this evening I talked with the principle of the Bible school they have there. He told me that there will be a baptism on saturday. It is a lady who has not gone to sda meetings prior to this. She was adopted to Norway as a child and has recently been reunited with her twin brother who stood back in their country. Now he is in Norway, he is an sda and she now wants to be baptised. And guess what? She is one of my colleges at work!! I do not know her wery well, even a bit surprised that she is interested in christianity at all and can not picture her as a "good" sda... I am very happy for her if she has found Jesus, but as we at FAF know, adventism is not christian. So now, should I "warn" her about their teachings, and encourrage her to look for another church - or shall I just leave it? What would you do? I will not see her at work before the weekend, so I wouold have to phone her and maybe arrange for a meeting. I am uncertain of what to do, and would appreciate some input:-) |

Oh, Berit, how distressing! First, I would pray and submit this to the Lord Jesus and ask Him to make it clear IF and What I should say and to open up an opportunity to speak. I might open up the conversation and say that I heard about being reunited with her brother and being baptized...or whatever seems appropriate. I think it's always appropriate, when have "religious" conversations, to ask them to tell you how they met Jesus. This will give you an idea whether or not she actually knows Him. I also think it's appropriate for you to tell her that you used to be SDA and see how or where the conversation goes. She might be open to reading some things or to hearing your story. I know many people here use the Proclamation issue which carried their own stories to give to people who are curious. You could share your story in Proclamation with her. It's online, and if you need some extra printed copies, just let me know! Colleen |

I agree with Colleen - pray about it! Also whenever an opportunity comes up to share the gospel, you could share it with her. |
