I am having another discussion on the SDA Facts FB group with someone named Lance. He wanted me to provide scripture the shows that Jesus is our Sabbath rest. I put together a study that reveals Sabbath and the covenant and points to Jesus as being our Sabbath and our everlasting covenant. Here is the link to my study note on FB http://www.facebook.com/note.php?created&&suggest¬e_id=188392221677#/note.php?note_id=188392221677&ref=mf Here is the link to the discussion, feel free to drop by and share a few verses or comments. I'm hoping he will begin to see God's truth. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?created&&suggest¬e_id=188392221677#/topic.php?uid=20496881896&topic=10034 If there is anyone here of FAF whom is not on FB just send me your email and I will gladly send you my study notes. I posted some responses to other things Lance posted on the FAF Facebook group. I am not sure I will continue the debate because arguing with an SDA is like arguing with a brick wall. Nothing can get through to them because they just cling to their magic mixture of proof-texts and humanistic philosophy. |

I hear you after I posted this study he quickly posted a bunch of garbage on Sunday and the catholic claiming authority to change Sabbath to Sunday. Ugh, I get so angry and the naivity of these SDAs. I shouldn't waste my time. but I figure how can they argue with scripture. I mean I posted in conext from old to new and he still argued about Sabbath Sunday. I told Him it's not about Sunday or Saturday it's about Jesus He is the Day. Paul |

Naivete? I don't thing so. I think it's more like hard headed(te). They don't sound too naive when they argue. They sound more like, "I have to be right no matter what" to me. Hec |

The reason it is impossible for us to get through to Adventists is because of the veil that covers their faces.....and their eyes are blinded. Until that veil is lifted, they cannot see what the Bible really says. |

Paul, they actually believe they CAN argue with Scripture because they do not believe the words of Scripture are inspired. It's not an absolute, unmoving source of truth. To them, the words of Scripture are for interpretation. If we have to play with Ellen's words, figuring out how to make her suitable for today, then we can similarly play with Scripture's words. After all, those Bible writers merely wrote down what they understood God to mean. In other words, God allowed their cultural and personal misconceptions and biases to color what they wrote. So there you go...we have to interpret for today! They have no ground of truth. Colleen |

Very true Colleen-the only ground they have is that they are "in the truth" even though they do not know they have been deceived Paul, I have chosen not to interact with Lance personally (I tend to now try and talk one on one with SDAs rather than electronically in groups like FB) He regularly particpates in the SDA FB (Lydia does so less frequently) and he tends to call "evangelical/moderate" SDAS on the carpet for not holding to SDA doctrines in a traditional/conservative manner. He's part of a growing trend that I see of the under 30 crowd who are now holding onto EGW but with a Gen X mentality. Be prepared to see some "heels digging in". |

Paul I'm not real learned on all the terms surrounding rhetoric debates etc. But it seems to me that he is setting up a strong man argument I don't think he even addressed anything you said but often that is par for the course when in those forums |

Paul, I read most of your postings and it brought to mind carm where sda's jump down rabbit holes when they can not give a straight answer with scripture. In other words they bring in the so called sunday law. Gail |

I agree, I am just going to keep pressing him to post scripture, He can spat EGW quotes all he wants, maybe someone else will read it and think twice about what they believe. especially if they can't prove with scripture. Paul |
