Is it true that EGW and those in her group as part of their "worship" service crawled around on the floor, fainted, had visions (others besides Ellen) ? I have read that before and saw a photo/ drawing on some website showing Ellen and others laying on the floor, etc. IF these things were true... was it while she was still a Methodist or after she became an Adventist or kinda in a transitioning in between time period ? Just wondering... It seems to me from some things I have read (documented things) that she had quite a jealous streak (IMO) someone would come up with a "prophecy" and she would then have a "vision" about the same thing making that prophecy her own. The more I learn about her the more dissappointed I am and the more I wonder how anyone could have ever believed she was a Godly woman ..? I USED to think she was a Christian who was just really confused in part because of her head injury, and in part because of pressure from those around her... I guess I tended to try and make excuses for her. Now... I just think she was pure EVIL ! Satan in a long black dress ! |

Thanks for putting this in the open section, Leigh Anne! I'll copy my previous answer: Skeeter, the Israel Dammon trial is one of the more embarrassing moments of early Adventism. You can read about it here: http://www.ellenwhiteexposed.com/israel.htm Colleen |

I went and read the whole thing and it is really scarey ! Some of the people in that meeting were referring to EGW as " imitation of Christ " as they felt she was speaking for Christ !!! Anyway, the article did give me the answer to my question.. Ellen WAS already an "Adventist" during that time. Sad...... very sad. And sadder still that so many of us actually believed for so many years that she was led by God. I now DO believe that she actually saw or felt the presence of an "Angel" standing by her chair as she wrote.... but since she copied copiously (80-90% in some cases) from other writers, that "Angel" could not possibly have been anything but a Demon showing himself to HER as an Angel of light. She was a very deceived woman and I cant help but want to feel a bit sorry for her in a way.. but at the same time she KNEW what she was doing was wrong and she made the conscious choice to steal from other writers so that she could make $$$ . Not only was she a thief, but also a liar. She publicly berrated people and told them how they should be living.. what to eat, what to wear, how to raise their children, etc etc... and all the while SHE was eating oysters and duck, wearing jewelry (which the General Conference has conveniently air brushed out of published photos) left her OWN children in the care of others so she could travel the world peddling her books ! The more I learn about her the more upset I become , realizing what a horrible, horrible person she really was and I can only praise Jesus Christ for removing the veil (more like a blindfold) from my eyes . |

Some things never change. Go read some of Greg Goodchild's comments on the CARM discussion boards. It is clear that he thinks Ellen White is his lord and savior. The foundational basis of Adventist identity is like this: "It says here in Revelation that the remnant keep the commandments and have the testimony of Jesus. Keeping the commandments obviously means keeping the Sabbath. Then the Bible says the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy. The Spirit of Prophecy is obviously Ellen White. Thus, the remnant church of Bible prophecy keeps the Sabbath and has Ellen White." Note that, in this line of thinking, Jesus falls out of the definition of their church. They claim that, because they have Ellen White, they don't need Him or His Gospel. |

The devil sure knows how to put on a good show , doesnt he? He knows which buttons to push and how hard to push them. And satan never takes a day off. He gives people what they want. Nothing that satan does should surprise us. I believe that maybe down the line we will here of miraculous healings and speaking in tongues in the SDA church services to really throw peoples into confusion. I wouldnt put anything past satan to do in these last days. We need to be alert and firmly grounded in the Bible so we wont become deceived by the great deceiver himself. WOW....where did THAT come from...lol lol lol. Maybe it's the rootbeer talking?...hmmmmm...hmmm ,,,Animal |

Yes, he does... But you know what? God created us, and HE is even more familiar with our buttons. All Of His Saved People Are A Testament To This. Pegg |

Animal, I believe you may be right. We know that there will be signs and wonders from the antichrist and false prophet at the end... The Lord Jesus holds us, and His word grounds us. I pray always that God will teach me truth and reality and protect me from deception. He is faithful. Colleen |
