I need the help of my friends on this foruum. My mother-in-law, Cheryl Crawford, has been diagnosed with a large brain tumor. She is scheduled for surgery this coming Wednesday. She has a great neurosurgeon and a good orthopedic surgeon on standby to rebuild some of the bone structures that have been affected. She also has a lot of people praying for her. Our family is optimistic and prayerful. I would like to ask you to shower Cheryl with prayers and to let her know just how many people are praying for her. You can leave messages to Cheryl here: We Love Cheryl C. Care Page. She is very dear to us and we crave your prayers. Even in the midst of this trying time, God is doing great things. My wife's family is the only family I have and we were once very close. Since my wife and I left Adventism relationships have been very strained. But in midst of this trial, family divisions are being healed and spiritual dialogues are being opened. God is at work. I would ask you to be involved in God's work. Please pray that in addition to physical healing, the Lord will also bring spiritual renewal. Please stop by We Love Cheryl C. Care Page and sign Cheryl’s guest book to let her know that the family of God cares. I know it would touch her heart. Thank you so much for helping. Sincerely, Chris Lee |

Hi Chris, I clicked on the link, but couldn't figure out what to do next. Should I click on "sign in?" I'm not that computer literate. |

Asurprise, you have to join first, become a member or I forget the exact wording. Then you can leave a message for Cheryl. Diana L |

Asurprise, It is as Diana says. As soon as I "joined", it took me directly to Chris' MIL, Cheryl, where I was able to leave a message. It then displayed all the messages that have been sent to her. Fearless Phil |

Chris, I understand how "in laws" can become as much FAMILY as the ones we are born into.. sometimes even more so. I will be praying for your MIl as well as the rest of your family during this time, that you will all have healing, both physically and spiritually. Francie |

We just spoke with Dr. Tomes the neurosurgeon. Cheryl is out of surgery, but will not be ready to be moved to the intensive care unit for another hour or so (maybe around 6:00). Surgery went well. Neither Dr. Tomes or the plastic surgeon encountered any surprises. It did take longer than some of the original estimates, but that had to do with the need to be very careful around a small nerve. Both physicians were pleased with the results. Dr. Tomes is pleased with the amount of tumor he was able to remove. Any tumor tissue that was left was miniscule, basically just a sliver left to preserve a nerve. The report was very positive. Once Cheryl is moved to intensive care they will be very carefully monitoring her for any blood loss or cerebral-spinal fluid loss. There will be lots of swelling and bruising as a normal part of recovery. It's likely Cheryl will experience some significant pain as well. That all was to be expected. The docs will be monitoring all this and trying to progress her over the next several days. If everything goes well she could potentially be home either this weekend or first of next week. We'll see how things go. We would ask for your continued prayers as we still don't know the exact nature of the tumor and do not know if any follow up, such as radiation, will be necessary (although it generally looked good). We should know more in a couple of days. |
