I don't know how I got started doing this the other day. I think it was helping me through a moment of frustration .. amusing myself. I was amazed at the contrast of what I used to "read" as opposed to what I "thought". I did a BUNCH - but here are just a few:

ESV - English Standard Version
STT - SDA Thought Translation

ESV Rom 14:1-3As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.

STT As for one who is weak in faith, show him is error and instruct him in the way he should live. One person believes he may eat anything, while the wise person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let the one who abstains teach the one who eats, for God has called him to know the truth.

ESV Col 2:16, 17 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.

STT Let no one pass judgment on you for keeping kosher in food and drink, or for not keeping a festival or a new moon, but still observing the weekly Sabbath.

ESV Eph 1:13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

STT You also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of the Sabbath day, and began to observe it, were sealed as the true followers of God.

ESV Gal 3:17 This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void.

STT This is what I mean: The law, which existed from the first day of Creation is not annuled any covenant which came after it, making it the highest revelation known to mankind.

2Cor 3:5-12 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory? For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory. Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it.
For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory.
Since we have such a hope, we are very bold,

I like your comparisons. Let us see some more of them.

The STT version would also insert ads for cutlets and veggie links so that readers would know where to purchase the pseudo meat that can make you wiser and bring you closer to God.

Olga, not here in Ardmore, Oklahoma! Most (? I don't keep track) veggie meats aren't vegan, so our health food store does not carry them...

Personally, I like them because I grew up with them. They're just too expensive for us!

It's odd how expensive those Adventist "meats" are, when Ellen White said how important it was for people to abstain from real meat in order to be strong enough to go through the time of trouble!

That's yet another contradiction between Ellen White and the Bible! The Bible says weak people eat only vegetables and Ellen White says strong people eat only vegetables!

You said you wrote a bunch of those. If it is not Kosher to post them here, could you e-mail them to me?

I would like to read more of these too. Your timing is impeccable, I was just sorting out some STT's last week. The first two listed being two of them.

I sure wasn't aware of it at all until 3 years ago. So strange.. all the times I have read the NT, even as an attempted law-keeper - NEVER remember reading that ever ever ever. AFTER we were set free, I start to read the NT again, and I almost fell out of my chair. It was like I'd never laid eyes on it. Such a bizarre experience. I believe that's why it's called "blindness" and "a veil" It's a literal thing. =)

When the adventist pastor challenged our SS class to read the NT, I took him up on it. I had read Anderson's website about EGW just before I got the challenge and had given up on EGW. As I read I would come up on something I had read as an SDA and it did not say the same thing thing to me. I understand what that veil is that is written about in 2 Cor 3.
