We have just come in contact with a sda landy we used to know years ago. She did not know we had left the church and was very surprised. She even wants to come and visit us and have bible studies - of course to bring us back into the fold, believeing we are decieved. However, it is not possible to meet at the moment, and I have started communicating with her on e-mail. She has questiones and comments that takes time to answer. I have told her that I need to send her some articles that deals with the issues as I am not able to answer everything myself. Unfortunately our PC has had a break down, and I have lost all the articles I had downloaded. Could you maybe refere to some web pages where I can find good articles about topics as - health laws (unclean food, circumcition) - acts 15 - the covenants - the law/ 10 commandments Thank you for helping and please pray that this woman will be touched by God and be set free! |

Berit, it's good to see you! The Covenants: Dales' cover article here: http://lifeassuranceministries.org/Proclamation2005_MayJun.pdf Chris Lee's article here: http://lifeassuranceministries.org/studies/covenants/index.html 10 Commandments: McGregor Wright's article here: http://lifeassuranceministries.org/Proclamation2005_JulAug.pdf Chris Badenhorst's article here: http://lifeassuranceministries.org/studies/whataboutthetenc.html I believe that the above articles will cover the subject of the covenants and the law sufficiently that Acts 15 and the food laws will begin to make sense. The actual reality of the new covenant has to be understood before addressing the food laws will make sense. If it were me, I'd start with the two articles on the covenants. I've tried to decide which one I'd use first, and I couldn't decide; they are both (Dale's and Chris Lee's) absolutely excellent. Have her read them both. They will build on each other. Then take her to the articles re: the 10 Commandments. Until she gets a glimpse of the new covenant and the scriptural support for it, the 10 Commandments will be more confusing. Again, have her read both Chris Badenhorst's and McGregor Wright's. They are deep, but they are really good. Wright's article addresses, among other things, where in church history people began to try to separate the law into moral, civil, and ceremonial "parts". He shows how this separation is artificial; not biblical. There's a lot more as well. You might just check out the Proclamations online--www.LifeAssuranceMinistries.org. Colleen |
