I forgot to mention this morning that the May/June Proclamation is now online. I'm so sorry it's so late; it's been a zoo trying to get to the magazine while also settling my mom's affairs so she could move into a retirement community. Last night about 8:00 we finished getting her settled into her temporary apt. while she waits for the refurbishing of her permanent one to be finished.

At any rate, the magazine is done and in the mail, and Richard got it online last night. You can access it here: http://lifeassuranceministries.org/proclamation/2009/3/index.html

The cover story by Martin Carey is awesome. I've read it several times, and it still amazes me how it takes me from the paradigm of my Adventist heritage right into the sovereignty of God which Job discovered. I also think you'll resonate to Autumn McMinimy's piece, "I Am Not a Spiritual Israelite" in which she references EGW quotes that induced guilt and fear into Adventists who, she said, were "spiritual Israel".

The back page is by Joan Yorba-Gray, and it is a moving devotional on the faithful care and empowerment of our God who carries the weak and needy.

Enjoy!

As usual I went straight to the letters to the editor.

For some reason the retort titled "You are proselytizers" Made me sad.

It also made me more determined to submit myself to the Lord for his use is whatever thing he sees fit whether it is comfortable to me or not, whether I meet with resistance or not, or whether some choose to persecute me or not.

I won't even grace the "You are proselytizers" with a wry comment, but to submit my life ever more deeply to the Lord Jesus this morning and say yes Lord I will go, I will try to pour all that I am into what you give me to do.

Brava! for Autumn McMinimy's article, "I am not a spiritual Israelite." This is a terrific piece. If God's promises and election of Israel are null and void, we gentiles also have no hope. What a pernicious doctrine, that the church must prove itself much better at law-keeping than the Jews. If that is the arrangement, then the history of the church should fill us with despair! Now as a gentile believer I can rejoice in Jesus' statement to the Samaritan woman, "Salvation is of the Jews." Paul spoke of his own people; "his gifts and call are irrevocable." No shut door, only the One who ever lives.

Colleen and staff, congratulations on another excellent magazine. I especially like the article about "I am not a spiritual Israelite".
I sent you an email about that.

Thank you, Colleen & Richard for a consistently professional & fascinating magazine. There is so much to re-learn & I read the articles over & over. I give God thanks that He gives you both strength for your ministry when you have so much on your plates! (Reading Proclamation is better than eating chocolate mousse!!) Martin--thank you for your research on Orion--excellent! River--thank you for encouraging me on my journey of submitting to Jesus. Sometimes I am very weak & fearful & I now think that God is gentle with us as He teaches us to submit. I think He holds our hands & leads us like toddlers who are afraid of the dark.

Colleen,

Thanks for "Proclamation". I got it in the mail yesterday. Already read it cover to cover. Like others, I enjoyed the "I am not an spiritual Israelite" very much.

Hec
