Several interesting points came to mind as I was reading Joshua Chapters 6 & 7:

1. The Lord commanded them to march around Jericho for seven consecutive days. Obviously, one of the those days was the Sabbath. Which one? Apparently there were no Pharisees to complain because they did as commanded. In Jesus' time there would have been a problem here! So, what does this account teach us about the Sabbath in our day?

2. Only Rehab, a whore, along with her father's family were saved out of the destruction of Jericho. Achan, on the other hand, stole and hid accursed booty which resulted in him and his entire household being killed and destroyed. Rehab, along with Ruth, is in the lineage King David. As such, she is in the genealogy of Jesus recorded in Matthew 1:5.

3. When Joshua fell on his face as he cried out to God, he seemed more concerned about the consequences of the disaster at the City of Ai than the 'Root Cause'. God focused on why there was a problem.

Phil, since leaving adventism I have thought the same thing about the march around Jericho. One of those days was the 7th day. Adventists never mention it. I wonder why???
