even with super slow connection, she is still drawn back inexorably. a bright note of hope fell on me today (my poet side coming out), someone asked me where in the bible it said not to judge according to what day you observe -- it was an ex-sda who read my testimony. so that was tremendously encouraging. ok enough dither dathering about my personal life. today in my devotions i was reading about Jonathan and David's friendship. what struck me and made me *have* to post. is that in hum, what book is it (i'm too lazy to look it up) either one of the samuel's i think. anyway, it's going about talking about how first saul wants david to marry his eldest daughter, but david says he's too humble to be son-in-law of a king, and then he marries the younger daughter etc. anyway. the point is coming soon. Saul discovers that David is hiding with priest? with Samuel in Ramoth (something like that), and sends his men like three times to go kill David, but each time his men start PROPHESYING. Finally Saul goes down with the intention of killing David and the spirit of Prophecy over takes him and he is disabled. Falling to the ground, i think he might even strip his robes. as Maryann would say WDYT??? don't you think it's weird/interesting that God would use the spirit of prophecy that way to thwart evil? no excuse but addiction and temporary free internet connection, Chyna |

Bless you, Chyna, in far Thailand. With your name, though, it seems you should be in China! No matter, I love your name. To your post: Yes, I think it's interesting that God would use prophecy to thwart evil. Max of the Cross |

update on Thailand: as per request by max. dear friends, I'm in the process of writing a travelogue about Thailand and will be delighted to share it with you once it is completed. a few highlights: amazing blue misty topped mountains breath taking waterfalls that roll mist of in great clouds lush rice paddies that extend as far as the eye delicious (and sometimes very hot food) squat banana trees lazy sunday afternoon fishin' some downlights: bug bites! the heat not being able to find a church my aunt and uncle have been taking me to "Church of Christ" but according to my friend, you can only be saved ifyou're baptised in the Church of Christ (according to their doctrine) so ... darn, another cult. pray that I'll be able to find another church. i've been searching the internet but no such luck. also. I've been working frenetically on my webpage about Adventism,it uses my personal testimony being involved and deceived by an Adventist and Adventism in general as a springboard to read other material like scriptural reproofs of aberrant doctrine and reasons why I classify Adventism as a cult. personally, I am still suffering from a lot of grief about my ex. *sigh*. in Christ, Chyna |

Chyna, One of my house-mates is Taiwanese. Her folks are still there. If you let me know where you are, maybe I can help you find a church. Terry |

Chyna... You don't need to find a different church--just a different congregation! I attend a CofC and they are congregationalists and some hold the views of your friend, but many don't. I find that most SDA's who try a CofC are very comfortable with the worship and the messages that they hear in them and so it's a good starting place for ex's. Just so there is no confusion, I'm talking about the 'vocal music' C of C's, not the Disciples of Christ and the C of C congregations that came out of them. Good luck and try another congregation! |

loneviking, dinna fear (as a scottish person would say), turns out that Church of Christ in Thailand is actually Presbyterian (internationally), however, Church of Christ the Boston Movement is a Cult in which my friend was warning me away from, (they were trying to recruit him). I just went to a wonderful Tribal church today, the pastor spoke on prayer and Daniel and Daniell's boldness, I was really blessed. one good thing came out of my cult paranoia is that i contacted local missionariesthat before I was a bit too shy to contact :). haven't seen you in awhile LV! o's, Chyna |
