Blew the dust off of some old albums

My late Mother had quite a collection of gospel quartet music like, J.D. Sumner & the Stamps quartet, the Blackwood Bros, Tennesee Ernie Ford, etc. It just so happens my partner at work likes gospel music too so I took what I could find and he burned CD's to play at work. To make a long story short, we are having foot stompin good time..) My first record was the Blackwood Brothers. That would have been in about 1970. From there I collected and enjoyed the Stamps, the Oak Ridge Boys, and my alltime favorites, the Imperials. I was privileged to attend an Imperials concert in about 1975 in New Westminister, BC. I still think Jim Murray had the best most pure tenor voice in Gospel music. While at WWC, my roommate and myself apparently had "This Old Gospel Ship" turned up a little to loud as it was ringing out loud and clear all the way from our room 150 in Sittner Hall up to the lobby. Those were the days. Fortunately some of those songs have been re-issued on Cds as collector sets. Now as I am edging closer to 50, I can relive, some of the best most meaningful music of my life. I also had an Album of the Bill Gaither Trio, Bill, Gloria, and brother Danny---the one who could really sing! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
