A couple months ago I asked for prayers for a friend who was studying with a non denominational group, who I found out was a retired SDA minister. The latter I did not know until today. She had started attending church services on Saturday. Today I saw her at my 12 step meeting. I mentioned something about the church I left 3 years ago. She asked, I told her and she said that is the one I am attending. She wanted to talk to me about adventism. So the group of us went to lunch together. One of the group is a female minister in another church who was helping her with scripture and books about former SDAs. Anyway my friend told me this last Saturday she could not go to church. I told her that I had prayed for her after I saw her last thursday. She considers it a God incident that I went to the meeting today, so she and I could talk. I think she will not be returning to the SDA church. She asked what church I attended and I told her. I told her about Celebrate Recovery at my church also and invited her. I told her when I volunteer for services and if she wanted to attend, I would attend the same service she does. She is a Catholic. I thank all of you for your prayers. God is always so awesome. Diana, I am delighted with the results of fervent prayer. You are a wonderful ambassador. Evangelism is our duty. God has commanded it. That should be enough to end the matter. But there is more. Evangelism is not only a duty; it is a privilege. God allows us to participate in the greatest work in human history, the work of redemption. "How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces peace and brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation, and says to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'" It sounds like the retired pastor was masquerading as non-denominational... 2 Corinthians 4:2 We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this. | ||

Praise God for answering once again! Thank you Father for protecting another person from Adventism! I was taught to say I was protestant - not SDA. The SDA's in my area have just done a card mailing offering free "Bible studies" in preparation for the annual "Evangelistic" series. (The quotation marks are intentional.) They have more than 100 leads! Please pray for these people who just want to know the Bible better. Anyway, my friends have been instructed to say they are representatives from Amazing Facts and that the studies are for all denominations. Both statements are bold faced lies! I just brought up to a few of my friends who are handing them out and making friends in preparation for the series that: 1. They are no more representatives from Amazing Facts just by passing them out than they are of Tyndale House Publishers if they give their friends a Bible. 2. They are not studies for all denominations. They are pointedly and specifically Seventh-Day Adventist aimed at telling people they are not really Christians unless they are Seventh-Day Adventists. 3. They are breaking a commandment to get people to become commandment keepers! When I pointed out that they were really bearing false witness to their friends there was silence. The "commandment keepers" are breaking a commandment trying to get others to become commandment keepers! It's nuts! I pray that they are at least considering those words. Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ requires no deception! | ||

The fact that he was teaching the sabbath led me to believe that whoever was teaching the group were associated with SDA. I only heard about it second hand. It was not until today that I learned it was a retired minister. Yes, it was deceptive to class the group as non denominational. Diana | ||

I would like to ask for prayers for my dad. A long time ago he was an Adventist, and then left the church and became an agnostic. I'm going to mail him a letter I wrote. It's an appeal to him to come back to God, not the god of the SDA church, but the true God. (I asked the Lord to help me write it.) | ||
