I am doing Beth Moore's Jesus The One and Only study this summer and a couple of days ago I read something that I thought was worth sharing on the forum. Many of us struggle with why we were raised and spent so many years in a religion that taught false doctrine. Beth was a victim of sexual abuse and writes this in one of my lessons: In Luke ll:22 it says "But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoil. She had four observations for this verse: 1) Satan may be strong, but Christ is "someone stronger", 2) Christ will attack and overcome Satan, 3) Christ is going to take away Satan's armor and 4) Christ is going to divide up the spoils. It was the 4th point that really hit me. She writes: "Do you know what this means to us? Jesus Christ is going to steal back what Satan has stole from us. Even though Satan stole so many things from me through my childhood victimization, I am finally ready to say that God has given me back more than my enemy took. The spoils or plunder that finally tipped the scale has come to me in the form of responsive letters to Breaking Free, Making Liberty in Christ a Reality in Life, the Bible study. I believe I can now say that the grace gift of seeing others helped through the power of the Holy Spirit has begun to outweigh the horrible repercussions." I believe that what she suffered was far greater than growing up in Adventism but we all have our scars and questions. Those of us who participate on this forum have no idea of how our postings help others but occasionally we get glimpses when people join and share that they now see that Ellen is a false prophet and that there is freedom in Christ. We are seeing people helped and Christ is stealing back what Satan has stolen from us. Blessed |

Oh Blessed, thanks for sharing that. God does give back so much than what was stolen/taken from us. He takes what Satan has done to us and glorifies Himself with the changes in our lives and the influence we have on others. Praise God for that. We truly do have an awesome God. Diana |

Hi everybody! I am also very fond of these Words of God: "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother[wife] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." (Matthew 19:29) Jesus lives, in His strong Hand, Martin |
