I wanted to share with you, excerpts from a letter from a man who is serving life in prison, it has been edited to protect identities, All other words are his. I believe it reflects the power and Glory of our Lord and savior to touch lives. Dear ___________. Many people claim that when a person is cast into prison, that her or him has lost his freedom. Yet I say that it depends on the person in prison and their perception, somewhat like a person deciding if a glass of water is either half empty or half full. And I believe that whether or not someone is cast into prison or living outside the walls does not determine if they have lost their freedom, or if they are free. I am in an 8x10 prison cell and it contains my flesh but it cannot contain my mind, spirit or imagination. I believe that to get the peace that surpasses all understanding and be free, depends on if one is content with what he/she has been given from God. Not just content, but content in Gods Grace. I can wake up with a smile on my face and a smile in my heart because I am content and it is that that gives me freedom. (End of quotes) Friends, I have watched this man for a period of years and I have had the privilege to see God work on this mans life, I have watched as he screamed out obscenities to the world, he took this man from a man with a gun to a man with a Bible in his hand, what a privilege I feel that God has allowed me to witness. While it seemed a very slow process to me, I am beginning to see the results of Gods work over what seems a long period of time. Many have remarked on the years of processing out, some are in the throws of processing out. I just wanted to share this with you that still have family steeped in Adventism, or you that feel as if you sit alone or you that the situation sometime looks hopeless, it is for you that yearn for God to help wife’s, husbands, mothers and fathers and friends. It boils down to this. Have faith in God and don’t look to your own understanding in a situation. That God does answer prayer. River | ||

Thanks River, When I go to Portland to visit my niece, I will let you know. She is one of the ones I pray for along with my sisters and brothers. When I start getting anxious, some one always reminds me that God works in His time and not mine. He is always awesome. Diana | ||
