It’s very likely that they had no control of the ads at all, though they may be able to block the specific ads by contacting the ad broker. They way banner adds usually work is a webmaster decides to allow banner adds in exchange for either money or placing ads for their own web site on other web sites. They are usually targeted, on my Disney Sites the ads are almost always travel or Disney related. The advertisers go to the broker and say what kind of web site they want their ads on, but I’m sure they are not too specific. Amazing fact would have requested its banner be displayed on “religious” web sites, and Crosswalk is registered as a religious web site. There was most likely no contact between Crosswalk & Amazing Fact. |

You could always set up your security settings to block banners and pop-ups, etc. Phil |

Dawn and Jay, I go into a Disney forum that has banner ads. For months, a little Amazon add in the corner advertised jock straps! (Usually it's Disney related books). The guy who ran the site had a devil of a time getting rid of the adds, but finally did. Dawn, I would suggest that you send a note to whoever is in charge of crosswalk just to let them be aware. They may not be able to do anything about it, but at least you've sent the message. Leigh Anne |

What is crosswalk? I went on the site and is it Adventist? I get the impression it's a Progressive Adventist thing or something. If so, I'd be leery of it myself. Progressive Adventists are still Adventists and they still believe EGW even though they tend to hide her in a "closet" she's still there. |

The contact button is under the "About Us" link, at the bottom: http://www.crosswalk.com/aboutus/ Reb, what gave you the impression it was Progressive Adventist? I didn't see any red flags along that line. And they certainly reference a wide variety of Christian resources, none of which are SDA. |

The Re-Inventing the Adventist Wheel website has a link to them. The Alhambra(CA) SDA church which is an ultra-liberal progressive Adventist Church(even more liberal than the University Church at Loma Linda) had a link to Crosswalk on their Website I believe I recall. Those things had given me the impression it is a progressive/liberal Adventist thing. |

Maybe, but when I went to "Re-Inventing the Adventist Wheel" and clicked on their Crosswalk link, it seems to be a different one: http://www.crosswalkministries.com/cw/home.html They don't look related to me. The Alhambra SDA church's website at http://www.thegraceplace.ws/ mentions Crosspoint, not Crosswalk. |

Yeah, the Crosswalk site has been around for years (at least a decade, I believe) and is not SDA. Jeremy |

Reb, the Crosswalk link from the Re-Inventing the Adventist Wheel has a link to Crosswalk Church, a progressive (emergent) Adventist church near Loma Linda. That is a different "Crosswalk" from the crosswalk.com site. This Crosswalk Church is the one whose associate pastor recently moved to New York to launch a new faith ministry: an emergent venue inviting monotheists—Jews, Christians, and Muslims—to make a new faith community, exploring and sharing the belifs and common values among them. Colleen, there was a Crosswalk Church which was a church plant by Azure Hills Church in Colton. They met in Redlands, CA. I attended a couple of times some years ago and they seemed to be drawing from the University and young professionals of the area. I believe there has been some changes recently but since I was not that interested I did not really read what was happening. Richard rtruitt@mac.com |

Hi, Richard! I believe this is the same Crosswalk Church. Today they meet in the building where The Rock Christian Center used to meet before they built their new buildings. Colleen |
