I found this on another forum and thought I would let you know about it. Has anyone seen this book?? This is a video clip of Dwight Nelson praising the book and the author. Diana NEW BOOK on Covenants Ingraines Sabbath's Importance http://www.universitypress.andrews.edu/catalog.cgi?key=189 Andrews University Press has recently released In Granite or Ingrained? What the Old and New Covenants Reveal about the Gospel, the Law, and the Sabbath, a new book by Skip MacCarty dealing with the old and new covenants and their relation to the gospel and the Sabbath. The book is available through Adventist Book Centers or on-line from Andrews University Press. Yes, Diana, I have the book. It's formidable: it quotes many covenant theologians as well as Adventist theologians and Ellen White herself. The way it strikes me is this: it is an argument from commentaries rather than a work of Biblical exegesis. I have trouble reading it because it's confusing and because it argues from assumptions presumed to be facts. Thank you very much for the links, Diana. Colleen |

Last night when I posted this I had not gone to the website talking about the book. I just saw the video. This morning I went to the website to read a portion of the book. The writer is talking about the covenants as if they were the same and meant for all people. It is very confusing. When I was watching the video last night I could only watch so much of it. I am finding SDA theology confusing. God is not author of confusion and convolution. He is awesome. Diana |

Hi Dianna, From your description of the book is sounds like Adventism warmed over, but no matter whose fire warms it over, it always comes out Adventism doesn't it? Anyway, wishing you a nice day in Henderson. River |
