My wife and I deliver food boxes to a senior citizen home each month. This afternoon, we were making our deliveries and we passed a woman and a little girl of about 7 years old in the dayroom. The lady recognized us from our Adventist days (she is an Adventist too, but we didn't remember her) and asked us if we belonged to our former Adventist church (she belongs to another congregation). We explained to her that we weren't, followed by the usual brief explanation of why (with no request for additional information on her part). Anyway, I then asked her if she was visiting someone there. She said that she and her husband actually lived there (could have fooled me), but that her husband had passed away recently and now she lives there alone. At this point, the little girl (who I assume was her grandaughter)piped in that he (her grandfather) was in heaven. The lady quickly responded, "he's sleep." Without skipping a beat, the little girl responded, "okay, he's sleep in heaven." My wife and I couldn't wait until we got around the corner to have a good laugh. The little girl was wearing several pieces of kiddy jewelry, so obviously her mom isn't an Adventist and grandma is taking every opportunity she can to save (indoctrinate) her. Just thought I would share. |

Dougóhow funny! I love that the little girl doesn't seem to understand "soul sleep" her grandma's way! Sleeping in heaven...I can live with that! It's always an adventure to meet someone we knew "back then"...but it is so wonderful to know that nothing they say or think can shake me from my eternal security in Jesus! Colleen |

Doug, Kids are so cute and will say what pops into their head, as they have heard their parents say. So, you and your wife must be saying the right things. Diana |
