Does anybody know where I can get some information on the group that brings the Santuary and does presentations with it? It is coming to my area and apparently it is pretty big (setting up on a sports field). I thought it was talked about on this forum, but could not find it. If someone could lead me to the site I would appreciate it. Wanted to research the group behind it and the type of presentation they make. |

I posted this in the other spot you asked the question. It's called "Messiah's Mansion" and here is their website: http://www.messiahsmansion.com/ Also, here are a couple places it was previously discussed on this forum: http://rtinker.powweb.com/discus/discus/messages/11/4598.html#POST59952 http://rtinker.powweb.com/discus/discus/messages/11/3615.html#POST48164

Schasc, It's a big giant presentation pretty much designed to draw in new members. It does NOT share the real plan of God's salvation, but the sanctuary message. I think it would be neat if someone stood outside and passed out gospel tracts... |

Schasc, It is so good to see you still checking in on occasion. I have often wondered how you are doing. In fact, I ran across an email address for you but hesitated to contact. I hope all is well in the valley. Give us a report if you end up going to the Sanctuary presentation. I would be interested to hear your impression of it all. I still see your Uncle and Aunt up here in Kelowna, as both are patients of mine. They seem to be doing okay given the trying circumstances they are dealing with. All the best to you as you continue to search for God's will in your life, just as the rest of us are doing. Peace and Blessings to you and thanks for stopping by. Randy |

Schasc, the Messiah's Mansion (what a contradiction in terms, given the NT designation as the body of Christ being the temple of God) is impressive and quite beguiling to unsuspecting Christians. When it came to our area last year, hundreds of people toured it. I heard several people from our church saying it was very interestingóand many of them had not picked up on the theological problems behind the presentations. The tour guides (students) all give slightly different explanationsóthey have to write their own "spiels" from their own researchóand some are more overt than others re: the requirements of the law, etc. The sad thing is that many Christians are so unaware of the details of the New Covenant and the explanations in Hebrews of Jesus fulfilling ALL those shadows that the presentation seems attractive rather than "stuck" in the old covenant. Let us know if you go see it and what you think! Colleen |

What a coincidence...the pastor today just announced that this will be coming to our church in March. My husbands response "Oh, cool..." Mine.."Oh brother..." I really hope it's not coming around Easter. While others do Passion Plays we do a life-size sanctuary. I will of course be curious enough to check it out...supposedly it is an individual audio tour, so I will be sure to post about it. I was wondering if this is the same travelling sanctuary that Tami McGrew's dad use to do years back? Tami |

When it came to Loma Linda, I asked if it was Ted Tessner's sanctuary (that's Tami's dad). I was told that it was indeed one he had built, but he no longer did the tour. He gave it to 3ABN, but 3ABN never used it, so some small (I believe self-supporting) academy inóI can't remember for sure, but I think it's Oklahomaótook it and has taken it to the road. I think there may a couple of them; it will be interesting to hear if the one you see, Tami, is the same one. Colleen |

Colleen, It is a small academy in OK. (I can't remember the name) That's where my BIL Clayton picked it up. As I recall Ted Tessner was from my area in SO-Cal? If it's the same one, he was a real character! Anyway, my BIL went to that church (I think it was in La Mesa, CA) and then moved his family to OK, and worked at the academy in their area when my neices and nephews attended. At some time my BIL was helping do set-ups and then a few years later took over the operation completely. My SIL tours with him occasionally, but makes it home to see all of us during the holidays. I've talked about this before, but my BIL is absolutely consumed with the Sancuary message, to the point of making my conservative SDA FIL uncomfortable at times. There were years when Clayton would even rant about setting dates for Christ's return (which would always have to be on Sabbath.) The last time he came to visit he had everyone on the edge of their seats hearing about the scapegoat, and the cleansing of the temple, etc. I heard just enough to make my stomach churn and then had to leave the room. I found my other BIL (who is an SDA pastor) outside just shaking his head. He and his wife didn't like it either and had left the room before me! Leigh Anne |

Oh, Leigh Anneóyou really do have full-message Adventism in your family! Sigh...sigh again. (It gives me a weary feeling to contemplate dealing with that at family gatherings!) Your mention of your BIL talking about Jesus returning on Sabbath reminds me that one person mentioned on Friday night at Bible study that this year, 2007, July 7 is on Sabbath. (Yeahó7-7-07 on Day 7!) Apparenlty some people are considering this a Sabbath of Sabbaths and are leading up to it with a time of fasting and prayer. I'm not sure exactly what they expect to happen, perhaps someone reading might enlighten us further if they can. Ah, numerologyósort of like an Adventist Kabbalah... Colleen |

The last Sabbatical year was last year in 2006 the next in 2013, and the most recent Jubilee year was 1978 and the next one in 2028. What is the importance to me in all this?? not much. Richard rtruitt@mac.com

Colleen, in hindsight, I can't believe I stuck around for all the lectures both my husband and I got when we were dating. You would've thought he was dating the devil! Now it amazes me even more that the family has embraced me, even though their son and grandkids come with me to a non-SDA church. Thankfully we haven't had any lectures in a very long time. (They probably think it's no use!) God has his plan. Hi Richard! Are there SDA's who celebrate Sabbatical and Jubilee years? You know, I would not be surprised if my BIL gets all excited about 7-7-07 this year. It would be just like him to put some kind of importance on that... Oh boy. Leigh Anne |

Leigh Anne, I think it would be kind of you to point out 7-7-07 to your BIL just in case he is unaware. You never know, you could help provide the missing link to his puzzle and become an even more endeared SIL. Just a thought, Randy Who knows maybe the "hills will come alive" on that day.... |

Randy, stock up on flashlights, batteries and linkettes, just in case! Or maybe we can give away all our stuff and sit on our rooftops? Maybe Jesus will get up and move to the kitchen this time. Sorry.

Leigh Anne, How did you know that flashlights and linkettes are a few of my favorite things! All kidding aside, I feel sorry for those you live in such fear regarding the end of this world. Our eternity started when we accepted Christ as our Saviour. I think sitting on the rooftop to watch Christ's second coming would be a great viewpoint. I have 20 inches of snow on my roof, so I better start shoveling, or hope for an early spring. Instead of fearing the end of time on this earth, we should be looking forward to being with Jesus when our pain and troubles will be gone, Randy |

I agree Randy, you're absolutely right! I didn't mean to sound so smart-alekey... (I think the BIL is a sore subject.) Truly, the day Jesus comes back will be a joyous one for his believers. How often did he say "Don't be afraid"? I believe the fear of the end times totally takes away from the peace and joy that comes from knowing Jesus. Jesus came to put an end to all the fear. God bless you Friend ~ Leigh Anne |

Colleen, I'll definitely post some info when it comes around. I do believe the pastor said March, so it gives me a few months to study up on it. I never did see Ted Tessner's tour, but I attended Azure Hills when Tami McGrew was an associate pastor there, and she had a discussion about it you might find interesting. She said that her dad had wanted to have a baptismal pool at the end of the tour for those wanting to be baptized after hearing the presentation. I'm not sure why one would be wanting baptism after a tour of a OT sanctuary, but he had either encountered this already or thought it might happen. Anyhow, he asked the church/conference(?) for permission and they shot it down...of course they wouldn't have time to study the 27 (or 28 now) doctrines properly to be baptized. He had wanted to baptize them for Christ, not church membership, and they said no. Her point of course was to discuss sda's way of baptism, not the sanctuary. I just thought it was interesting. And even more interesting is how most that I have encountered are not happy with the whole 28-doctrines-study-guide-before-baptism. Nobody agrees, yet all accept it. Leigh Anne....wow you have some intense sda relatives! I've met some like that in passing, but have never got to know anyone that close...well, except a brother who in the early 80's was heavily involved in the sdarm, he even gave up college because we were "in the last days" and there was no point. I remember when he was expecting his first child he was lamenting the fact he was bringing a child into this awful end-times world only for her to suffer...she's now 24 and has her own baby! I think she came through OK! |

Tami, what an interesting anecdote re: Ted Tessner! In the 80's I ran camera for a video shoot of Ted's sanctuary message which The Quiet Hour produced. He wore his full high-priestly garments for the shoot, ephod and all. He had props from his sanctuary in the studio. He most definitely was teaching Adventism, not the gospel. I'm sure his desire to baptize people was sincere enough, but frankly I'm glad that the conference nixed his idea. No one would have understood what Jesus really did after listening to his explanation! And this is just a hunch with no way to prove it, but I'll just bet that if Ted had been allowed to baptize people at the end of his tour, even if he didn't tell them he was baptizing them into Adventism, he would have somehow let them know that their next step would be to find an Adventist church and attend there. Further (and here's where I speculate but suspect I may be right), I'll just bet that Ted would have reported his baptisms to the conference at the end of every tour just like all SDA evangelists do. The number of baptisms justified the money spent on salaries and funding their meetings. Even though Ted built his own sanctuary, he was an Adventist pastor. I'm just enough used to Adventist "funding" to suspect he would have tried to use his baptisms to justify more support for his work. Leigh Anne, I totally understand your reaction to your BIL's single-mindednessóand even though I knew your comment was "smart-alecky", I still laughed when you said you wondered if maybe 7-7-07 would mark Jesus' move into the kitchen! Call it insider's humor or whatever, but that was funny! What a joy to be in Christ and free from the "anti-typical Day of Atonement"! Colleen |

Thank you all for the information. It looks like that is the display that is coming to my town. I told my boss that I thought it was dangerous to have this display on property since I said they probably would expoused "historic adventist belifs". He did not disagree with me but it is the conference that that is putting this on for the pathfinders and is using our land. I dont think I am in a position to hand out tracts, but that is a great idea. I need to pray about this and see if there is something that I can do. Randy, my aunt is here in town visiting my mom and she seems to be doing well. It is quite a thing that has happened in their lives and it has really disrupted the family. Thanx for your words of encouragment. Feel free to email me if you have my adress. I am not sure If it is appropriate to list it on this site. Since I dont know the rules for kind of thing go ahead and try and if it comes through I will respond. I have appreiciated your thoughtful posts as I have "lurked and learned"........... |

leigh ann, "Hi Richard! Are there SDA's who celebrate Sabbatical and Jubilee years?" I've met a few who almost go that far. One couple in particular moved on to a Messianic Jewish church which was very conservative. Richard rtruitt@mac.com
