Yes - a happy new year from another part of Scandinavia - as Mwh we already have entered the new year 2007. May this year be blessed with an Christ-centered gospel among SDA. That excentic doctrines would fade away in behalf of the glory of Christ and his kingdom. That's my prayer. Jesus is Lord! /Dinolf |

I just came back in from sitting outside and playing with our new standard poodle puppy named fonzie (short for JRFonz), and he did not like all the fireworks and party favors going off all over the neighborhood. He is only 92 days old, but we thankfully welcome in 2007. Marti and I had a wonderful last day of 2006. We attended our PCA church where the Lord's Supper was celebrated with real wine (we got an early start on New Year's Eve), and Pastor Ron Gleason preached a classic sermon on guess what--the classic Reformed doctrine of regeneration preceding faith. In the church bulletin Pastor Gleason printed a humorous reminder that if we were to enjoy "adult beverages" on this New Year's Eve, then we should be sure to have a designated driver bring us home, and he suggested that this should be a Baptist! (smiley) What a refreshing change from our SDA days when it was considered almost an unpardonable sin to have a glass of wine. Our pastor even has the freedom to post on his blog www.rongleason.org that one of his hobbies is studying about and enjoying fine wines. Gleason (who had R.C. Sproul as his mentor) mentioned today that the son of the late president Gerald R. Ford--Michael Ford--was a theology student in his class, and the secret service was quite evidently present in class. We are now one year closer to that glorious day when we long for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ--what a blessed hope indeed for all who are in Christ! A most Blessed and Happy New Year to all of you as we rejoice in His wondrous grace, Stan

Happy New Year everyone! Yesterday I heard a great sermon that the pastor based upon Acts 9 and Paul's trip to Damascus. Basically he pointed out that 1) Paul thought he was doing what God wanted 2) God showed him a totally different path that he wanted him upon 3) Then he brought confirmation to that path through Ananias. At the end the pastor sat down and it was totally silent while the screen flashed questions such as: 1. Are you willing to allow God to change your course in 2007? 2. Who might be the Ananiases in your life? and other similar questions left on the screen long enough to really search your heart. So I say Happy New Year's to the many Ananiases on this site who are helping along those seeking to follow God's will totally, no matter where it leads! Stan, I agree with your comments about the refreshing change from Adventist ways! Aliza

Aliza, It sounds like you had a good sermon as well in your church. The story of Paul's conversion is one of the most dramatic examples of God working to change the heart to accomplish salvation according to the purposes of His will. Thanks for sharing. Stan |
