Have any of you checked out atoday.com? There is a good article by Chris Mack on the SDA church's myopic view of Daniel and Revelation. I enjoyed the article! More SDA's should read it and give long, hard consideration to the idol they have made of these books... ISO |

Thank you for the link, I found the article very informative and also very through, the Adventist investigative judgments and mistreatment of Daniels prophecies is so off the wall that I fail to find words to describe it. The investigative judgments are just an extension of the effort to figure out the day of Christ return, and utter failure, and failure to repent, nothing more. Such gross misrepresentation of the Bible does not really deserve the time that Chris Mack put in to refute it but bless his heart he was willing to go the mile. On first reading the investigative judgment theory I felt as if I had just stepped in a huge cow pie, I felt sick to the pit of my stomach. Thank God for the Chris Macks of this world. |

River, ever since I saw a reinactment of "The Great Disappointment" at my in-law's SDA church, I too felt sick to my stomach. It's amazing that rubbish like the IJ is hammered into kids and adults alike just to cover up and protect the date setting debacle. I could never understand why the emphasis on Daniel & Revelation when my then boyfriend was taking the classes in college. Since studying here I've learned that it's the indoctrination and protection of the IJ. What's even more amazing is finding out that the prophesies in Daniel that EGW twisted and took on as her own (cleansing of the sanctuary) had already been fulfilled even before Jesus was born. It's part of the reason for Hanukkah! I've tried to explain that to my husband but it it's so ingrained that it only confuses him and he just shakes his head at me. Thanks for posting the article ISO and Cforrester. I plan to read it this afternoon. Leigh Anne |
