I noticed, yesterday, that Spectrum has taken off all subjects they had on their web site. When I tried to log on, as I had registered, I could not log on. Has anyone else noticed what they have done?? Diana |

Diana, I went to the magazine's website and clicked on "Interactive." This is what it reads: "OUR APOLOGIES. THE ONLINE FORUM IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE." Olga

The spectrum forum has had some trouble with posting of gambling and other objectionable sites as links. They removed those posts and banned the posters. Shortly after that, the forum site was hacked and traffic redirected to a middle east religion website with arabic type text. That went un-noticed for several days untill they took the site down earlier this week. Hope they didn't loose much over it all. JD |

The Spectrum forum is back up BUT....... One of the first posters is someone who has posted the gambling links again..... they seem to have it in for spectrum for some reason Also they have lost all the previous membership list and all previous posts are not recoverable. Hope they can secure the site better this time JD |

Wow--I hadn't checked the Spectrum forum for a few months. Had there been any interesting discussions there? This incident brings up a question that I've wondered about before. Colleen, is there a database back-up with all of the posts on here, or is that even possible with this forum's software? I would hate to lose all of the posts on this forum if it were to crash. SDA CHURCH AUTHORITIES FORBID DR. FORD'S PARTICIPATION IN SPIRITUAL RENAISSANCE RETREAT (DEC. 29, 2005 TO JAN. 1, 2006) AT A CALIFORNIA HYATT RESORT "It is because of the respect Adventist Today has for the SRR organizer and our wish that the SRR continue to flourish that we are not at this time publishing a full explanation of these events. However, at a later time, Adventist Today expects to report on the politics and personalities behind this decision." (AT Website News Release) Dennis J. Fischer

Dennis, Yes that is really sad. There was a new thread started by Jorgfe called "So Sad" in which the links to the AT site are available. The Publisher of Acventist Today is a good friend of mine, so I will try to get more scoop from him if I can. Stan |
