Colleen and Richard, I just received my Proclamation yesterday. Your son is wonderful. He writes very well and I really like how he writes his story of leaving SDAs at age 15. Chris, your parable of the Pilgrim's Voyage is very good. Of course I like everything about Proclamation. It feeds my soul. Thank you Colleen and Richard. Diana |

Diana, Thank you for your comments. It is so wonderful to see how God is growing both our boys into Godly men! Richard |

Richard, Did you notice from the picture postcard I sent that I was living on Tinker Road? I thought you'd like that. |

I will second Diana's comments. Roy and Nathaniel are an inspiration to all of us in the FAF Bible study, and they are an excellent example of God's wondrous grace! Chris, if you are still reading this board (I miss you, BTW) I want to congratulate you for a well thought out parable. Since I am a big fan of John Bunyan, and "Pilgrim's Progress", this particular version was special, because I think most of us can see that as a story of our own lives when we were in bondage to the Law, and to the bondage of Adventism, when we were more comfortable in our chains. But when God opens our spiritual eyes, and frees us from the bondage, there can be no greater joy or happiness to experience the marvelous freedom we have in Jesus. Well done Chris, Stan |

What really touched me was when your son talked about his stepmother, Colleen. It really touched my heart because of what happened between my Mom and my sister & brother, my Dad's kids from his first marriage. That fact that your son calls you Mom with love and respect says a lot for how he was raised. It brought tears to my eyes. God was truly with you two. Diana

I will never forget the day, a few months after marrying Richard, when I was talking to a dear friend and feeling almost frantic with overwhelm. I knew those boys needed me, but I felt completely incapable of being what I needed to be. She said something to me that changed me deeply: "You are not loving those boys for your sake, or even for their sakes. You are loving them for God." I realized that I didn't have to know what to do or have the answers they needed. All I had to do was to be willing to "be there" for them and surrendered to God. If I was willing to be there and be open to God, He would love them through me. He only knew how to love and heal their hearts. God Himself would minister to them; I was just His hands, heart, and feet. As time passed, I realized that was the way God wanted me to love all those whom He brought into my life. That evening was a major turning point in me, and I began to pray that God would help me not only to love the boys for Him but also to love Richard for Him. Later, when I went back into the classroom, I prayed to love my students for Him, too. He is faithful. Colleen |

If my kids grow up loving God and still loving me I'll smile and say... that's what all the stories and hugs, talks and bike rides were for. It's incredibly inspirational to hear a success story. Thank you for opening up and sharing your life. Lisa B-D
