A year ago this Sunday, I stepped into the church to which God told me to go. I had been praying since January of 2004 about a church because I knew God wanted me to meet with other Christians on a regular basis. During the week after Mother's day God told me to go to that big church on Russell Road off highway 95. I had been visiting other churches and not one seemed the one for me. So on Sunday morning, I got dressed and went to this huge church. I was a little late, so when I walked in they were singing in a very lively manner. It was not quite what I was used to, but I went in and sat down and immediately felt I was at home. After the service I went to guest central to find out about baptism and the starting point class. Starting Point talks about the basics of Christianity. I signed up for it and for the next class, called DiscoveryE. It expanded on what the Bible teaches. I figured I had been taught a lie for so long, having grown up SDA, I wanted to know as much as I could as fast as I could. I had been challenged to read the NT by the SDA minister in our SS class in Dec 2003, so I had been reading my Bible since January 2004. In January I re found the web sites about EGW and her plagiarism. That was God's hand, for sure!!! As I attended the Starting Point class, it confirmed what God had taught me since the first of the year and what I had found here on this web site. I had been reading it since I found it. It has been an exciting journey and very interesting. Fortunately, I have no SDA brothers and sisters that tell me I am lost because I have left the SDA church. The relatives that are SDA, I have very little contact with. My youngest brother had studied himself out of the SDA church a number of years ago and my son knew some of the things I had studied. When I wrote and told my son some of the things I was learning he wrote back and told me, "Mom, I told you that long time ago". I had not paid attention as I had been sick. So now I am a member of Christ's church. A group of Christians that love Jesus and preach about Him and His love for us and others. God has been so good, even when I was a pseudo SDA, non SDA and now a Christian. I am always amazed how when strange Christians get together it is so easy to talk about what God has done for us. Thank you God for leading me to where I am right now. I love you as much as a human heart can and yet I know it is a drop in the bucket compared to how much you love me. Thank you for Jesus. He is all I need and I am so very thankful. You are so awesome. Diana |
