A monster heresy created ñ but could not destroy! Igor, fetch me a Bible and the books! For I am going to build the worldís most perfect religion! It will be like no religion that came before it, and there shall be none like it again forever after. I see parts of this magnificent creature laying all around me, but the creature does not exist ñ except in my dreams and visions. Ah, but exist it will and I will be its creator! I will take here a little, there a little, and assemble him according to this design: For his head, I will give him the Ten Commandments which I have left over from Methodism. For his legs, I will amplify the Sabbath which I have from Joseph Bates. For his arms, I will suture on the state-of-the-dead from the Jehovahís Witnesses. His food will be tithe, which comes from most Protestant churches. Next, I will attach health reform that I got primarily from John Wesley and John Harvey Kellogg. Then I will make him declare that Jesus had a fallen nature, just like my Mormon friends. I will clothe him in a reform dress which I got from the Quakers and Puritans around me. I will make him work Work WORK, just like the Catholics. Finally, I will plug my beautiful creation into the the Investigative Judgement generator. This will give its inanimate body the appearance of life! Nobody will know that he died on October 22, 1844 once power from the Investigative Judgment is coursing through his veins. All who see him will fear him, because he will similar to those he is made of without being like any of them. His only natural enemy will be those who know the secrets of his existence, and live by this creed: "Like one who, on a lonely road, doth walk in fear and dread, and, having once turned round, walks on, and turns no more his head; because he knows a frightful fiend doth close behind him tread." |

Thanks! It's original except for the first line, which is the tagline from the old Frankenstein film, and the last quote which is directly from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein book. I think it perfectly sums up the formers' experience.

Free, you have hit the nail on the head. Of course, the maintenance manuals for the monster are all of the little red books, and the compilations of same that have been, and continue to be issued. Belva |

Well, at least you didn't plagiarize the first line. This could be a real monster mash thread. Dawn of the Dead: EGW's version of the resurrection, only it's much scarier than the movie with zombies running around.

This is what someone posted on CARM after Pheeki posted what I wrote. I think it's awesome! "And from the light the monster ran, tripping those with no bible in hand. It's best face it does disclose, hiding well it's ruin and woe. But for those who know where to look, they can see the stiches took, the forms of error and reproach, woven in it's torrid coat. But each day it's freinds come forth, they feed it much and scream it's worth. it's not as bad as you say... lets just study one more day. Feed the beast the members sing, in it's words the truth must ring. Christ alone is not enough, lets keep piling on more stuff. The beast will help pile it high, until it reaches God's own sky. The beast has said, the spirit can't be trusted, obey the rules or your busted. And so it keeps it's patrons safe, blocking those who might escape. so the newbie must soon learn, feed it now or suffer spurn. Study bible, study now, we'll have the beast show you how..."

Free, That is terrific what you wrote and you did hit the nail on the head. and the reply was just as good. So, sadly true. Isn't it good to know that all we need is Jesus and can forget the monster. Unfortunately, we cannot forget those caught up in it. But we can pray for them. Than you God, you are awesome. Diana |

The sad part is that I did not see any of contridictions during the 19 years I was in it. It all sounded so right. Now it sounds so wrong. I still have family that I pray for that they will come out of the "monster". I thank God that I can now find HIS way. Of coarse I am still learning. God is so AWESOME. |
