GOOD FRIDAY It was the blackest, darkest, most evil day in the history of the universe. Satan believed he had won his greatest victory, but he suffered total defeat. Jesus was murdered on His own terms, in His own time. He died because He chose to. And because there was no other way we could be saved. The ones who killed Him taunted Him, beat Him spit on Him, then gambled for His clothes, under His cross, as He died. The holy, religious, good, Law keeping people of the day stood by and taunted, mocked, and laughed as He died They were so proud. They had won. Everything would remain the same. Nothing would change. This dreamer would soon be dead! His response? "Father, forgive them. They do not know what they are doing." Only one man out of the entire crowd got it. Only one man. A criminal, convicted of a capital offence. Dying for his crimes. He got it. Even in death he turned to the only one who could help. "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Only one man realized that it's not what we do or what we want that matters. It's all about God's grace. It's all about putting our faith and trust in Jesus. That man, that very day, received life that would never end. Forever in paradise, with Him. He never had a chance to be good, or do good works, or be baptized, or "get ready", or live a holy life, or even join a church. He simply believed and trusted, and accepted the gift of the cross. It was all he needed. Because, you see, that day everything DID change. Nothing would ever be the same again. Ever. That's Grace! And it wasn't cheap. It's all you need, too. Do YOU get it? __________________________________________________ The Good News about Jesus! God Loves you. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for your sin. He was buried, then rose from the grave. He's alive and ready to give you life that will never end, if you repent of your sin, place your complete faith and trust in Him, and allow Him to be Lord of your life, forever. Today, won't you give your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Savior?

This morning I attended the most awe-inspiring, soul-enriching service I have ever been too.The presentation of Jesus sacrifice and gift left me weeping though most of the hour. I look forward to the promised celebration of our risen Saviour sunday morning. This was my first blinders-off Good Friday. What a blessing. I hope many of you dear friends had the opportunity to share in a similar joyful worship service. Blessings all, Randy |

Thomas, thank you for your poem. It's wonderful. Randy, I know how you feel. We attended the service at our church this evening, and I'm overwhelmed by the same kind of feelings you described. What an amazing thing to worship with a church full of people who truly love and honor Jesus. Colleen |

At my church's Good Friday service last evening, our pastor spoke about how it was Jesus' own choice to give His life to save the human race. A soloist and our choir beautifully sang Watts' great hymn, "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross." As a congregation we sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Above All." We celebrated holy communion, and then had the joy of seeing 35 people baptized! It was a perfect beginning for this Easter weekend! |

On Good Friday for the past five years or so I have attended the 3 p.m. service at the local Catholic Church. I guess the SDA's montering this site will really have a good time with knowing I've completely sold my soul to the Beast. LOL! Well anyway, it is a very unique service because nine different churches from the community partisipate in the service. They use the Caatholic Church because it has the best accomadations. The nine churches include the Lutheran, which is my home church, several local Prespertarian churches, several local Episkapalian churches, the Methodist church and I think one ther Catholic church. Father Butters got up yesterday and talked about how wonderful that we are now livng in an age where Christians with different draditions and even some different unique doctrines can all worship together as we are all proclaiming the same Lord Jesus. It was very moving. Four long Bible passages were read. The Old Rgged Cross was sung. The entire congreation held hands and we sang the Our Father. It was 100% total BIBLE. I sat there just wishing some couious SDA's would sneek in because then they could actually hear the Word of God in a Christan church and experience Chrstian unity. Before leaving the church the church becomes dark. On the sound system they play the noise the tearing of the curtin would have sounded like and then there s earthquake noise from the organ. We leave on a very solumm note. The service has no benadiction because it is not over. Tomorrow we get the grand fanile! |

It seems like that EGW's job was to obscure the cross and make it hard to understand what the Atonement was all about. But once you understand what it's all about, and how it is THE doctrine of life itself, only then can you see what a powerful witness for the trulth was the Cross of Christ and how it was everything to us all and we didn't know it because we were tied up on other subjects the whole time. She kept us splitting hairs over other things so nobody had time to look at the cross. |

I'm late on this one, but Easter this year was like the most magical bone chilling thing our family has experienced ever... I know those are the wrong words... but after being a Christian my entire life and never ever experiencing Easter for real it was incredible. God was there with us at church, through the good Friday service and the Easter service, the communion, the music, the message, the celebration of LIFE. It's so wonderful to see others who experienced something similar. Lisa
