Chris like I said I can not respond about this topic in an open forum any more. The reason why in other posts I gave out my email address. And I should not have. I can not take the emails I get when I post questions and thoughts. The emails I get just do not help. And not only that I really do not know what I am talking about at all anymore. On any biblical topic. I have also posted this as well stating this. Sorry Speakeasy |

So far we have looked at scriptures that reveal the following truths: 1) There is only on God (YHWH). 2) The Father, Son, and Spirit are personally distinct. Tonight I would like to begin presenting scripture on the third and final truth God has revealed about His Being. However, since this may become a bit lengthy, I will break it up into three parts, a, b, & c. Tonight I will only deal with part a. Truth #3 a) The Father is God. I don't really know of anyone that disputes that the Father is God. The Bible teaches that the Father of Jesus Christ is God in so many places that it would take way too long to list them all so I'll just list a few. Speaking of His Father, Jesus said: "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." John 17:3 (NASB) 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him. 1 Cor 8:6 (NASB) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 2 Cor 1:3 (NASB) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Eph 1:3 (NASB) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3 (NASB) So after tonight, we have looked at the following truths from scripture: 1) There is only on God (YHWH). 2) The Father, Son, and Spirit are personally distinct. 3) a) The Father is God Next time I post I will begin presenting scripture on truth #3 b) The Son is God. I don't understand Chris. you said that. "If you combine tonights posting with my posting from 9/28, it should become obvious that Jesus is not God the Father, Jesus is not the Holy Spirit, and God the Father is not the Holy Spirit." But you also Posted just above; "Next time I post I will begin presenting scripture on truth #3 b) The Son is God" How can you say that next time I will post that The Son (Jesus) is G-d, But you also said that G-d is not the Father. If Jesus is G-d like you are going to post the next time. And you already said that G-d (Jesus) is not the Father. But you are going to post that The son (Jesus) is G-d does not make any since. You have already said that Jesus is not G-d the father But you ar going to give truth scripture that the Son (Jesus) is G-d. You have left something out or like always I don't understand. speakeasy

In an above post, Speakeasy indicated a frustration with getting emails. Could we all agree not to communicate to him through his email but to keep it all on the forum? Speakeasy, would this make it easier for you? I do believe that the traditional Christian concept of the Trinity is one of the most difficult to think about because it is completely different from anything in our time-space experience. I would point out however, that just because we can't grasp a concept does not negate the concept. I don't understand the Trinity but I believe in the concept because God has given abundant evidence for me to believe that He always deals in truth, even when I don't understand a particular truth. Chris, I may be making an error with this suggestion as you may have already covered it and I missed it. My question to you is, when are you going to address Gen. 1:26 and compare with the first chapter of John? Sorry if I'm jumping the gun here. Dane |

Yes. Because the emails are very negative to what I want to know about this subject. I have learned no matter what through emails from people on this forum. This subject is part of the Gospel. If this is true. Were did this concept start and like I said I have been informed by other people that this is part of the Gospel and does directly tie into your salvation. How come Paul did not preach this when he presented the Gospel that we know today? But Chris, My eyes and mind is open to what you want to post. You are very knowledgable and kind. the reason why I spell G-d this way. I have much reverance and Awh to my G-d. It would be like if I have a chance to meet the president of the United States. I would not go up to him and say "Hy George.thanks for coming" Would you do that? Or would you pay respect to the President and say "Hello Mr.President" or "Hello Mr. Bush" To me it's all about respect for my G-d. speakeasy |

God is One in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son; the Son is not the Father; the Holy Spirit is neither the Father nor the Son. Yet all three together comrprise the God of the Bible. They are Yaweh of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament. The NEw Testament, however, reveals their distinct personalities more clearly than does the Old. While it's true that the Jews still do not feel it's appropriate to call God His full name because they fear dishonoring Him by casually naming him, Jesus revealed the fact that He is our Father. Because of Jesus' blood we have been brought near to Him when we accept Jesus, and it is our great privilege as Christ-followers to call Him the intimate, family name "Abba", or Daddy. (Romans 8:15-16) He is no longer distant and unknowable. It is actually an act of great love, respect, and acceptance of Him to approach Him intimately and to call him our Father. We can now call Him by His name because we also are members of His family and bear His name. Colleen |

This is all confusion to me. I can not make heads nor tails on who is G-d and who saves me and who when I pray who hears my prayers. When I pray Is it the G-d that Jesus prayed to when he was on the cross or is it Jesus and he then inturn goes to G-d and tells him what I am praying? All of this is just to confusing and I just don't understand. speakeasy |

Colleen You said above that "the Son is not the Father" But you also said "It is actually an act of great love, respect, and acceptance of Him to approach Him intimately and to call him (or Jesus)our Father." So is the Son the Father or is he not the Father? I truly want to understand. And I want to understand. I guess I am so blind I will never understand. Satan must be blinding me of this. And this also tells me I am not saved. Because I don't understand this topic and all i do is argue about this topic. But I have turned over every fibber of my life over to G-d and I am and have an open mind. So what is the problem with me. That you see the trinity and I am missing it? Could it be true that Satan is inside of me and satan is controlling me like some of the emails I got said I was? speakeasy |

So does my spelling of G-d make me more or less a christian ? Is it wrong or Am I breaking a teaching of the bible to do this ? Why am I having so many problems with everybody? Why am I being told through the Holy Spirit in my studies and walk with G-d. Things that are totally different than what other people on this forum and in churchs believe and know? Am I actually not following the same G-d as people on this forum and in church? speakeasy |

I don't think anyone meant to offend you, Speakeasy, about asking why you spell God the way you do. Most people who spell God like G-d have come from a Jewish background, which might explain why it's more difficult to come to an understanding of the Trinity concept. I also had thought you came from a Jewish background, (even though I understand you are not currently a Jew) and that was why I recommended the "Jews for Jesus" website to you on an earlier post. I thought you might understand the Trinity better if you saw it explained from the perspective of Jews who became Christians. However, Chris seems to be doing a great job so far! |

Speakeasy, thank you so much more the honest responses. I'm so glad that you agree that scripture teaches that there is only one God. This truth is absolutely fondationsal to both the Jewish and Christian faith. Both faiths are fiercely monotheistic because the Bible is quite plain on this point. Speakeasy, I plan to expand a bit more on the implications of the truths that God has revealed about Himself once I finish laying out each of the truths from scripture. I know this takes some time and I hope you'll forgive my slowness, but my evenings have been so busy I've been struggling to find time to write. Keep those quesions in mind though because they are good ones. Chris |
