Are there really prophesies in the bible that refer to the USA? I vaguely remember something about it but don't remember the verses used. I have seen these two men on a religeous station talking about the prophesies of Daniel they have this big statue with the head of gold and so forth and he mentions that the USA was prophesied in the Bible. I turn the channel when I see the statue and the beasts - to close to my evangelistic series experience. But I really would like to know how othe christians feel about the USA in prophesy | ||

There is nothing specific that points to the US unless you interpret one of the beasts of Daniel as so. I've heard different ones try to say we're the leopard in Daniel 7:6 ... but it is purely speculation. If you try to keep it in the region of the time, I don't know how to recognize the US as anything except maybe one of the 10 nations from the 10 horns, but again...those nations are not identified as clearly as the prophecy in Daniel 8 where we are given very clear definition of who is what. Others say that by the time this all comes to pass, perhaps the US won't be a superpower any more, but will go the way of great nations before it. Clearly, there is nothing that says this is the US in prophecy. It just depends upon how you interpret the symbolism. |
